Mustang Monday Message

Mustang Family,


Last week, we were touched by the hundreds of acts of random kindness performed at Meadow Brook during Kindness Week. This next week, we are looking forward to our Literacy Reading Round-Up.


Each year, the school and PTA each hold one fundraiser. We are excited that it is time for our annual Literacy Round-Up, in which we hope to promote literacy to collect money for our Instructional Library (these are specialty books teachers use during small group reading instruction) and to purchase technology for our classrooms.


The first step is to get pledges; the paper on the envelope explains this process. Students will have the opportunity to collect pledges on Feb. 23rd-26th. We want to keep our students safe by only having them go to family members or people that they trust for pledges. We do not want children going door to door collecting money. The reading will take place Feb. 27-Mar. 3. During this time, students will track the number of minutes they read each day on the calendar provided. The minutes will be calculated to determine the amount of money people will donate.


We will be holding an online gift basket auction starting on Monday, Feb. 27th, and ending Thursday, March 2nd at the Literacy Round-Up Night. (A link will be sent through email and on social media!). Get excited, we have some amazing baskets!


Beginning March 6th, we will start accepting donations and continue through March 9th. ALL DONATIONS must be paid online through Success Fund, which will allow you to use Apple Pay, Venmo, Google Pay, Paypal, or a credit card (https://www.successfund.com/meadowbrookreadingfundraiser). We are unable to accept cash or checks.

La semana pasada, nos conmovieron los cientos de actos de bondad realizados al azar en Meadow Brook durante la Semana de la bondad. La próxima semana, esperamos con ansias nuestro resumen de lectura de alfabetización.


Cada año, la escuela y la PTA realizan cada uno una recaudación de fondos. Estamos emocionados de que sea el momento de nuestra reunión anual de alfabetización, en la que esperamos promover la alfabetización para recaudar dinero para nuestra biblioteca educativa (estos son libros especializados que usan los maestros durante la instrucción de lectura en grupos pequeños) y para comprar tecnología para nuestras aulas.


El primer paso es conseguir promesas; el papel en el sobre explica este proceso. Los estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de recolectar donaciones del 23 al 26 de febrero. Queremos mantener seguros a nuestros estudiantes haciendo que solo acudan a miembros de la familia o personas en las que confíen para obtener promesas. No queremos que los niños vayan de puerta en puerta recogiendo dinero. La lectura tendrá lugar del 27 de febrero al 2 de marzo. 3. Durante este tiempo, los estudiantes registrarán la cantidad de minutos que leen cada día en el calendario provisto. Los minutos se calcularán para determinar la cantidad de dinero que la gente donará.


Tendremos una subasta de canastas de regalo en línea que comenzará el lunes 27 de febrero y terminará el jueves 2 de marzo en la Noche de alfabetización. (¡Se enviará un enlace por correo electrónico y en las redes sociales!). ¡Anímate, tenemos unas cestas increíbles!


A partir del 6 de marzo, comenzaremos a aceptar donaciones y continuaremos hasta el 9 de marzo.
