The Leopard Spotlight award for 11.3.23 goes to our School Store! We are so grateful for Julie Puckett, Karin Wortham and Shannon Droupy! These ladies are always willing to help and lend a helping hand. Besides school store sales and merchandise orders, they assist with the high school budget, purchase orders, field trip preparation, ticket sales, letter jackets, student parking, facility requests and much more. Thank you for being an essential part of LHS!

Lovejoy High School is currently reviewing the senior project process. Our goal is to ensure each student has a meaningful and positive experience that will lead to a senior-level product that can be used beyond Lovejoy High School. Student IDs

Students should begin carrying their student IDs with them while on campus. Whether it is on a lanyard or in a wallet, backpack, etc, the expectation will be that a student will be able to produce their Lovejoy student ID card upon request. Girls Soccer Tryouts


The JV girls soccer team has a couple open spots if you are interested in playing. Tryouts will be held Monday-Thursday, 11/27-11/30, from 3:45-5:05 pm at the stadium field. If you have an 8th period class, you can come out after your 8th period. If you are interested in trying out or if you have any questions, please contact Coach Keeble at ian_keeble@lovejoyisd.net or you can find him in room B230.



Boys Soccer Tryouts


The boys soccer team will have tryouts on Monday-Thursday, 11/27-11/30, from 7:00 - 8:20 am at the LHS stadium field or indoor facility. If you are interested in trying out or if you have any questions, please contact alex_duran@lovejoyisd.net .

Join us on November 28th at 6:00 p.m. in the Lovejoy Child Development Center Library for a panel discussion on Achieving Accommodations for individuals with disabilities. Join Stephani Kranz, Brie Smith, Allison Claunch, Heather Fisher and Eva Pearl as we talk about understanding accommodations beyond the walls of Lovejoy, talking about ACT/SAT accommodations, how colleges work with accommodations, the differences of what is allowed and then job accommodations.

*Please use this email to sign your student out of school. We will be using the pass system again this year to release students from the classroom for appointments. Sending the request in early will ensure the student is released on time and with less interruption to classroom instruction.

*When sending us an email, please specify how your student will be picked up and who will be picking them up.

To purchase your $65 parking permit click here. Stickers will be picked up at LHS in the School Store. Please bring your valid Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance with you at time of parking sticker pick up. Students will sign the Parking Expectations agreement at this time. The sticker must be placed on the passenger side lower front windshield. This google form with vehicle information will also need to be completed: Parking Google Form. AP Scores: Who Gets What

If you're planning on sending your AP scores to a college, university, or scholarship program, remember that your score report will include all the scores you received on AP Exams you have taken in the past. If you want to send only some of your scores, make sure to withhold or cancel the ones you don't want to include within the time frame given by the College Board. Lovejoy Families and Community Members:

The Annual Lovejoy Letter Campaign for teachers and staff members is just around the corner! Many of you are familiar with this beloved tradition, but for those of you who are not, it is the time of year when we write appreciation letters for each of our teachers and staff members across the District. The letters do not have to be elaborate or lengthy. The goal is for people to write a note of thanks to show appreciation to their teachers, the staff and our administration. It is the opportunity for us to take the time to let each person who makes a difference for us throughout the school year know how much we value them. This year’s campaign will run from Monday, October 23rd to Thursday, November 9th.


Please place your letter in a clearly labeled envelope including the staff/teacher’s name, the campus and LLC (Lovejoy Letter Campaign). There will be collection boxes available at all campuses in the District. The last day for drop off is Thursday November 9th . Please feel free to share this message as we spread the word about the campaign. Let’s show our teachers and staff just how much we appreciate them! -PTSO

Football

The Lovejoy Leopards Football Team are District 7-5AII Champions after a dominant win against the #1 state-ranked Melissa Cardinals on Thursday night. After a physical first half, the Leopards went on a 21-0 run in the second half to secure a 28-7 win and gave Melissa their first loss of the season. The Leopards finished the regular season with a record of 9-1 and an undefeated district record. Thursday night's win gives the Leopards the #1 seed heading into the Texas State Playoffs.


Lovejoy will host the first round of playoffs at home next week, the date and opponent are still to be determined. The playoff game will also be our Senior Night as it was postponed due to weather. Make sure to come support your Leopards next week as we begin our quest for the State Championship!

Volleyball

The Lovejoy Varsity Volleyball team has had an eventful week since last Friday night! Saturday morning they celebrated Halloween a little early with their annual Halloween themed practice! The girls had a fun time dressing up, and the coaches did too! After the fun, it was time to set their sights on winning the Bi-District playoff round against Lancaster! Tuesday night your Leopards won bi-district in three sets against the tigers. Tonight they’re traveling to Athens, TX to take on the Whitehouse Wildcats for the Area Round playoff! Game time is 6:30pm and the theme is Red Out! The girls would like to thank everyone for their support so far, and said to keep it coming! We truly are one heart, one Lovejoy!


We want to make a special shoutout to all of our amazing coaches at Lovejoy ISD on this first ever Texas High School coaches day! We love and appreciate you all! ROLLPARDS!!

Debate

After a stellar weekend at Plano West, the Debate team continues to get its way! At the UNT Gossett tournament this weekend, LHS Debate came in 2nd overall with Theo Khakoo advancing to the quarterfinals in LD, Sophia Dong winning LD, and the Wise-Palani team winning Policy. Sophia, David Wise, and Paari Palani all earned speaker awards as well. Congratulate them on a job well done!

This past Saturday in Bryson, TX, we had 2 teams earn top awards! 1082T did great and ended as Quarterfinalists and improved their skills score. 1082F won the Tournament Championship and 1082M ended as Finalists and Skills Champion, and Excellence Award winners! We are #LovejoyProud of all our students' efforts.
