2016-2017 BUDDY Classrooms

Mr. McGinley's first grade students work with Ms. Ryan's fourth grade students in one of their first BUDDY classroom activities.

Why do we have BUDDY Classrooms?

In our master schedule we have blocked out thirty minutes each week where our BUDDY Classrooms meet. This chart above shows the BUDDY Classroom partnerships for the 2016-2017 school year.

Mrs. Schneider (media specialist) leads a small vertical team of teachers in planning STEM activities for our BUDDY Classrooms to complete when they meet each week. These STEM ideas will be displayed in the FLEX classroom and promote problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration.

During the 2016-2017 school year, four TV monitors will be added to the English Landing hallways where STEM projects or BUDDY activities will be shared in a virtual format.

Ms. Peters' and Mrs. Willis' classes completed a ball pit activity to get to know their buddies and find things they had in common. As usual, the students really enjoyed spending time together.

Coming SOON! Home Learning!

Each month, we highlight and celebrate our home learning at English Landing. Located just outside the office, the home learning ribbon hangs accompanied by the monthly poster celebrating which grade level had the highest student participation percentage for the previous month. These home learning experiences are a way to reinforce at home the skills and concepts learned in the classroom. Thank you for taking the time to make our home learning experiences a meaningful, purposeful component of our Eagles’ learning.

Please Review: Image & Contact Opt Out Process

We recently shared in the English Landing Back to School Family Newsletter the steps families need to take if you want your child to be included on the Image and Contact Information Opt Out List.

In the upcoming weeks, the English Landing PTA will organize a 2016-2017 School Directory to publish. This 2016-2017 School Directory will include family contact information (student name, parent name(s), address, phone number, e-mail) unless a family completes a 2016-2017 Park Hill School District Image/Contact Information Opt-Out Form. *Form available on the English Landing School website under Parent Resources.

2016-2017 Park Hill Parent/Student Handbook Reference (Pages 8-9):
