Main Office Hours

The main office is open from 6:00 am to 3:45 pm. Our direct number is 651-621-6600. To report an absence, call the attendance line at 651-621-6601 or you can note it through your ParentVUE account.

Attention Parents!

School hours are 7:45 am - 2:25 pm. If you are dropping off your student in the morning, please drop them off as close to 7:30 am as possible due to staff and safety issues. Students should also be dropped off close to door #8 of the Activities Entrance, NOT the main doors. Thank you for your help in keeping our kids safe!

Chromebook Expectations

Attention students: It is critical and expected that you bring your charged Chromebook to school everyday. Please be sure to place your Chromebook inside your backpack each evening or morning after you have charged it to ensure it is ready for you at school.

Quarantine Questions

If your student is in contact with someone with Covid and you have questions in regards to quarantine, please contact our Covid Coordinator, AP Richmond Tweh at richmond.tweh@moundsviewschools.org.

Ala Carte Funds

Breakfast, lunch, and snack are FREE to all students this year; however, if they want items from the Ala Carte (snacks, juice, treats, etc.), they need to add money to their lunch accounts and use their lunch pins to access.

PLEASE NOTE: The funds must be put in an envelope provided on the black collection boxes located either in the front lobby or outside the cafeteria door. The envelopes NEED to include the student's first & last name then NEEDS TO BE PUT into the secure cash box or drop it off in the front office. PLEASE INFORM YOUR STUDENT NOT SET THEIR MONEY/ENVELOPE ON TOP OF THE BOX! The cafeteria collects the money at 930 am each morning. They cannot take money during lunch. Thank you for your help in this matter.

The safest way to add money is through the online Paypams account here.

Parent Information Night

On Thursday, September 16, Principal Reetz will present an overview of Teaching and Learning at Edgewood to parents of 6th grade students. He'll do the same for parents of 7th and 8th grade students on Tuesday, September 21. Both evenings begin at 6:00 pm. Parents will gather in the performance gym. We will practice social distancing in the gym and are asking parents to mask.

Following the presentation on both nights, parents are invited to follow their scholar's schedule. Teachers will present a brief overview of their course. The evening will conclude at 7:30 pm.

Edgewood Spirit Week/Pep Fest

On Friday, September 17, we will be having an Edgewood Pep Fest to celebrate the start of a new school year and get students excited for Irondale's Homecoming Game! We want to continue to build positive relationships amongst our students/staff and work towards building a strong Edgewood community.

Join us for Spirit Week, September 13-17, and dress up!

  • Monday: Pajama Day
  • Tuesday: Jersey Day
  • Wednesday: Flannel Day
  • Thursday: Throwback Day
  • Friday: Edgewood/Irondale Day

The Pep Fest times for each grade is listed below and will take place outside on the Football/Track Field. Teachers will direct students when they are dismissed. Students should leave all backpacks/supplies in their classroom and use doors 19 and 21 to go outside. (DO NOT GO THROUGH THE VILLAGE). Students will sit in the tapped off area on the hill until the Pep Fest starts. There will be two activities we will be having during the Pep Fest that students and teachers will be competing against each other in.

  • 6th Grade Pep Fest (During Period 5: 11:50-12:39)
  • 7th Grade Pep Fest (During Period 6: 12:43-1:32)
  • 8th Grade Pep Fest (During Period 7: 1:36-2:25)

2021-22 Important School Information

Face coverings

Students and staff are required to wear masks while inside the school. Masks must cover both the mouth and nose.

Arrival/Dismissal

For parents arriving from County Road H, please watch this very brief video on changes to our parent pick-up and drop-off circle.

For Mounds View residents arriving from north of our campus, please view this very brief video detailing a 2nd pick-up and drop-off circle, accessed from Woodale Drive.

Many students will also arrive at our campus via walking or biking. Please watch the videos below with your student so that you know through which door we want them to enter.

Students arriving via biking or walking from County H (enter door 26).

Students arriving via biking or walking from Mounds View (door 8).

When students enter the school, they are to report to the following:

  • Students in grade 6 will report to the white gym, adjacent to our cafeteria.

  • Students in grade 7 will report to the south end of the red gym.

  • Students in grade 8 will report to the north end of the red gym.

Students will be dismissed from their 7th period class by grade level and will exit out the same door through which they entered.

Passing time & the use of Backpacks in place of lockers

Students have the option of using a school issued locker to store personal items during the day, but access to lockers during passing time is prohibited. Our expectation is that students carry learning materials with them in their backpack to each class. The only purpose of passing time is to transition from one class to the next. Access to bathrooms, student services office, our library or student lockers will be granted individually using a teacher-issued hallway pass.

Student Meals

Students eat lunch with grade level peers (class sizes range from 235-245 students). Additional seating will be in place to allow for increased distancing while eating. Students will choose their seats on a daily basis. With their masks on, students will walk into the cafeteria, go through the lunch line (if needed) and find their seat. Masks will be removed only during the time students are eating (as minimal exposure as possible). Students will put their masks on immediately after eating and will remain with their masks on until they are excused from the cafeteria.

Upon finishing their lunch, students will be required to immediately mask. Gym and outdoor space (weather dependent) is available to students during the lunch period, which will further allow for distancing and reduce the number of students gathered in a single space.

Plan for quarantined students Similar to last school year, students that show or report symptoms common of Covid-19 will be moved to a safe space and parents will be asked to come and pick them up.

Quarantine Plan

In the event that a student has to quarantine and their access to the school building is compromised, teachers will employ one or more of the following options to ensure a continuation of learning:

  1. Synchronous teaching (via Google Meet)

  2. Teachers will post lessons, videos, and assignments in Google Classroom to be accessed by the student when it is most convenient.

  3. Students will be invited to virtually attend after school or office hour sessions with teachers

  4. The school will send books or other materials, and assignments to the office to be picked up or delivered to the student’s home.

EPAT (EW PARENTS AND TEACHERS)

EPAT Information

Edgewood Parents & Teachers (EPAT) is an organization in which parents, as well as Edgewood (EW) teachers and administration work together to help meet the needs of the EW students and staff. This includes funding for EPAT-sponsored student events, providing grants to teachers for items not covered in the school's budget, and staff appreciation events.

We understand that not all families may be in a position to give right now, but if you have the means, please consider a direct donation to EPAT. There are several ways to contribute, but direct donation maximizes the dollars available to support our students and teachers! Here are our current fundraisers:

  • Direct Donation
    • Send it via U.S. mail to:
      Edgewood Middle School, Attn: EPAT
5100 Edgewood Drive, Mounds View, MN 55112

    • Donate online:
