Pounamu Newsletter
Week 4 - Term 1 2023
Kia ora e te whānau,
Thank you to all of those who came to our Getting to Know You meetings. It is always good for us to meet up in person to learn more about how we can make school a great place for your tamariki.
If you couldn't make it, please feel free to contact your child's teacher directly. They will be able to schedule an appointment in afterschool.
Unfortunately due to the weather we have had to cancel the Wheels and Meals night. Let's hope that the weather is good for our school picnic on the 10th of March at Waikanae Pool.
Mā te wā,
Pounamu Teachers.
Paid Union Meetings
We have split the teachers into two groups so there will always be a Pounamu at school. More details will be sent home today in the school newsletter about these meetings.
Waikanae Pool - Family Picnic - 10.3.23
Ka haere tatou ki te puna kaukau ō Waikanae. We are all going to Waikanae Pool on the 10.3.23 for our family picnic day.
More information will be given in the school newsletter. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather!
Moving March - Starts March 1st!
Paparangi School is participating in Movin'March.
This is an initiative that encourages children to walk, bike or scoot to school. Even dropping your child off a bit further away to give them more of an opportunity to walk makes a difference.
Greater Wellington encourages schools and whānau across the region to get active to/from school over March. Walking, biking, and scooting to school can help increase independence, physical and mental health, decision making, and road safety skills for tamariki - and the school benefits from less chaos at the school gate.
Miniball
Although Miniball at Nairnville Rec Centre does not start until term 2, there are already parents who are keen to help organise and coordinate teams so they can be registered as soon as possible. If your child is keen to play, please contact Zoe Ede zoe_ede@hotmail.com as soon as possible. We also need coaches for these teams so please let Zoe know if you are able to help.
Hats - Ngā Pōtae/Sunscreen
If you have a child who needs sunscreen we would appreciate it if you could put this on in the morning. We have some spare sunscreen for top ups if needed too.
No Nuts!!
