Wolverine Camps
There is a packet of information and a letter from the 4th grade teachers about camp in the Friday Folder. Please look it over and let me know if you have any questions.
We are asking that permission slips and payment be turned in by Dec. 16. Parents, if you would like to attend we need to know by Dec. 16.
Language Arts
- Reading: This week we focused on character and visualizing in a fiction text. We also talked about point of view and personification.
- Writing: We worked on writing a summary about a nonfiction story. Students used the chapter books they've been reading for homework.
- Grammar: We worked on progressive verb tenses.
- Reading Homework: Students are doing an awesome job reading to get to their 4 books by Christmas break. A lot of students have already finished four books! Please be sure to check in with your child and see how far along he/she is, kids are in pretty good shape if they have two books done by now.

Collection for Little Traverse Bay Humane Society
This year instead of a classroom gift exchange 4th grade will be collecting donations for the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society. We are asking that all the 4th grade students donate an item or two off the Humane Society's wish list.
Feel free to send donations in any time between now and Dec. 20th!
This is a link to their wish list: http://www.ltbhs.com/volunteers/donate-supplies I've also included a paper copy of their donation wish list in the Friday folder.
I would like to contact the Humane Society to see if they could stop by with a few of their dogs on the afternoon of the 22nd to pick up our donation. Please let me know if you child is allergic to dogs or cats or is afraid of dogs or cats. The students do not know about this yet...so they won't be dissappointed if the animals don't stop by.
Parent Volunteers for Dec. 8
Also, I need someone who would be willing to cut some fabric for the project. I can send it home with your child or you can stop in school to cut it, I'll need it cut by the 8th.
