Important Updates From Our Home and School Association

GIVING FRIDAY-Pretzel Sale/Hearts to Home Fundraiser: This Friday, December 6th is not your mother’s typical Pretzel Friday Sale! In addition to purchasing a pretzel for snack for $1, you can make a donation that will go directly to the Hearts to Home organization which supports local families in need.

Pretzels will be available for purchase this week and will be delivered to the classrooms for snack on Friday, December 6th. Please note that NO FORMS/ENVELOPES are needed. If your child would like to purchase a pretzel, please send them to school with $1 per pretzel, cash only and not in an envelope. The same is true for any donations you would like to make to Hearts to Home. The teachers will collect the cash and track the donations and which students are ordering pretzels. All money is due by Friday, December 6th.

SAVE THE DATE FOR DINING FOR DOLLARS: As everything gets a little crazier as the holidays approach, take advantage of these upcoming Dining for Dollars options that help you feed the kids AND support the HSA. Sounds like a fab BOGO deal to us!!

  • Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza on Monday, December 9th: Visit Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza in Wilmington, DE between 11:30am-10:00pm, and mention Bethel Springs while checking out to help the HSA earn 20% of the day’s profits!

  • Sweet Frog on Thursday, December 19th (11am-9pm): Visit Sweet Frog in Glen Mills before or after the 4th/5th Grade Chorus Concert, and mention Bethel Springs while checking out to help the HSA earn 20% of the day’s profits!

CHARLESTON WRAP FUNDRAISER: If you did not pick up your order during the Book Fair, please head to the BSES Office where the remaining orders are currently stored. Thank you again for your support!

Nature Trail: Thank you to the Moran Family for taking such great care of the Nature Trail this past week! (And don’t forget that there are still some Keeper of the Trail volunteer slots available in January/February; check out the Sign-Up Genius HERE to see what’s available and to sign up.)

Please make sure students are dressed for the weather!

The cold temperatures are here for a while to come! Please make sure that children dress warmly--winter coats, gloves, hats, scarves. When weather permits, we like to make sure that students can get outside for recess. Please know that students who are not dressed for the weather will not be permitted to go outside for recess. A half hour is a long time to be outside in the cold when not warmly dressed! Thank you for your help!

Dear Bethel Springs Families,

The Holiday Season is rapidly approaching! We are asking for your help in supporting “Hearts to Home.” This organization makes the season brighter by providing gift cards to families with financial needs in our Garnet Valley School District. All funding comes from our staff and our families.

We are very fortunate and grateful to have Hearts to Home in our community! Would you consider making a donation to Hearts to Home? We would like to collect monetary donations, checks, and gift cards (Acme, Wegmans, Target, Wawa) to help provide our families with gifts to buy food, clothing, school supplies, and toys. These confidential donations will be a great help to some of our families during the Holiday season. Please send donations in an envelope addressed to “Guidance Department” for Hearts to Home by Monday, December 16, 2019. Your thoughtfulness and generosity are always greatly appreciated during this Holiday Season. Thank you for your continued support!
