Peasant Life

The majority of Europeans were peasants that lived in small rural villages. In Western Europe, peasants would either work their own land to make money, be a tenant for a large landowner and pay a yearly rent for the farmed land, or be hired to work on other people’s farms. In central and Eastern Europe, serfdom was still popular so peasants could be bought and sold with land. The majority of Europeans had a simple diet which was mainly fruits and vegetables. Entertainment consisted of games and sports.
