Diwali
With many in our community celebrating Diwali this week, we've been enjoying the colour and richness of the festival here at school also, offering an opportunity to learn more about the key messages and significance of this important cultural event, and a chance to pass on best wishes for a happy and prosperous Diwali.
Zones Softball
Congratulations to our Zones Softball players this week, with both the boys' and the girls' teams winning 1st place. There was great team spirit as always, and an outstanding result for their efforts. Our thanks to Karen Moore, our sports coordinator, and Dom Reed for supporting all our participants.
Class Placements
Hard to believe as it may be, it's the time we begin putting together our draft classes for next year, with the aim of ensuring we get a balance across key criteria, including gender, range of needs/abilities and positive grouping of children.
We take great care over this process, with input from every teacher and team to ensure we get the best outcome we can.
If you have specific information about your child we may need to be aware of, please let us know by filling in the form below by the end of next week, with the final date for any requests of Friday 17th November, after which we will finalise the lists, with your child's placement shared with you during the last week of term.
Please be aware we don't consider requests for a specific staff member, or for a 'best friend', but rest assured the teachers do take the time to have conversations with the children (in addition to their own experience and observations) and consider other children they learn well with.
Our aim is to make sure every child is placed with at least one peer they have a positive, established relationship with, as well as making the change of year level an opportunity to make new friends.

Update - Food & Fun Fair 2024 - Cancelled
During a discussion at the Term 4 PTA meeting, where we reviewed the volunteer sign ups - we have concluded that we have not been able to fill enough of the critical roles to run the Food and Fun Fair in 2024 and have made the difficult decision to cancel the Fair in 2024.
The PTA will review the events that have been successful in 2023 (a year with no fair) and determine what kind of fair or festival event could be run in the future. Watch this space!
If you had signed up to help - thank you for your help, we will be in touch with how you can help when a feasible event is determined.
