An honor to present...
We are so proud of our eighteen 6th Grade graduates.
This class has been resilient and successful this year as we journeyed through transitions, challenges, and success!
We honor these young individuals as they embark on the trajectory of their school career, knowing that they have had formation and education (Virtus et Scientia) from our dedicated, talented, and excellent GHA Staff.
Please see the plethora of information celebrating our 18 scholars below.
“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” -Martin Luther King, Jr.
As always it is an honor to partner with you in the trajectory of your scholar's formation and education. (Virtus et Scientia - Character and Knowledge)

Mr. Lee - 6th Grade Teacher
“Good evening ladies and gentlemen, it has been quite a ride. November 8th, 2021 was my first day with you and each day has been a journey. On this voyage, we've run into some rough waters, storms, and some might feel monsoons. But after any storm, the sun will eventually shine. Seeing you today is better than seeing a rainbow and pot of gold.”
-Mr. Lee
"Teaching is a Work of Heart".

Mr. Earl Phalen Founder & CEO of Phalen Leadership Academies
Good evening 6th Graders, Parents, and Family Members.
I wanted to write and let you know how proud all of us are of you.
This is a major milestone, and goal, in your life -- one of which you should be extremely proud.
Know that we are all extremely proud of you!
It takes a special person to achieve a goal like the one that you have achieved today.
It takes vision for yourself.
It takes belief in yourself.
It takes hard work.
It takes vulnerability -- being willing to try new things that you or may not be good at right away.
That takes courage.
It takes strength to experience obstacles and challenges, and still be willing to keep going, to keep trying.
You are strong.
Believe me when I tell you that you are even stronger than you know.
New and other great milestones are ahead of you now.
Apply what you learned, as the ability to learn new things, be kind to others, work well together, dream big and WORK HARD will take you a long way.
I believe it will take you wherever you dream.
We are proud of you.
We are, as you should too, grateful to your loved ones.
No one has ever achieved anything great without the love, criticism, encouragement, questioning, and push from their loved ones.
Please remember, daily, to thank your family and loved ones.
Finally, remember, you can never be great unless you are kind to others and yourself.
Love yourself, and continue to learn a little more and more about our history. It will make you strong.
Continue to be a role model for your younger brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, and the younger scholars at GHA.
If a friend or loved one needs you, continue to be kind to them and continue to be there for them. That is true leadership!
We are so proud of you for both what you have accomplished here, and even more so for the young men and women who you are becoming.
Congratulations!
Earl

Mrs. Smiley - Instructional Specialist
Hello,
I am Briona Smiley the instructional specialist here at GHA. I am here as part of a dynamic partnership formed with Phalen Leadership Academies. Our core values are Children First, Respect, Determination, Continuous Improvement, and Gratitude. I started in October which was a pivotal moment of transformation for the school and since I have been here I have witnessed our staff, scholars, and families exemplifying these core values. I watched and witness the development and growth of these 6th-grade scholars. I watched as they were taught above what to think; HOW to think.
I have seen them gain greater awareness of the impact of their decisions and interactions with others. They have begun to learn that they are in control of their future and the masters of their destiny. They have been pushed and celebrated as they build endurance, work harder, and increase their drive.
They had a teacher who would not let up because he too exemplifies the core values of children first, continuous improvement, and determination. Parents: many of you formed an alliance with our team and for that we are grateful. We can’t do this without you. I want to thank the leadership, staff, scholars, and parents for allowing us to develop, lead, and partner with you. There have been many changes and it's only UP from here. On Behalf of PLA, I want to say congratulations to our amazing 6th-grade scholars!
