Athens High School was ranked in the top 30 high schools in state of Alabama as calculated by U.S. News & World Report. It’s a great day to be a Golden Eagle!

MacBook Turn-in Dates:
- AHS Seniors Turn in Date: Monday, May 20th Approximately 10am until complete
- AHS Senior Make-up Date: Wednesday, May 22nd 9am until 11am
- AHS 9-11 Students: Monday, June 3rd 9:00am until 12:00pm, Tuesday, June 4th 9:00am until 12:00pm, Wednesday, June 5th 9:00am until 12:00pm
- All seniors must return library books and pay overdue library fines and lost book fees by Thursday, May 16.
- Baccalaureate is Sunday, May 19, at 6:00 p.m. in auditorium. Wear cap and gown.
- Senior MacBook Turn In: Monday, May 20, 10 a.m. after Elementary Walks.
- Juniors: Lifetouch will be here on Tuesday, May 28, at 10:00 a.m. in the auditorium to discuss scheduling Senior Portraits this summer.

- Students can pick up First National Bank Student Advisory Board applications in the Freshman Office.
- Rho Kappa Honor Society Junior members will meet before (7:45 a.m.) and after school (3:25 p.m.) Tuesday, May 21, in Ms. Hicks' room.
- All students in grades 9-11 must return library books and pay overdue library fines and lost book fees by Friday, May 31.
- Students taking honors, AP, or dual enrollment English courses next year are required to complete a summer/independent reading assignment, and there is even a bonus point opportunity for the grades 10-12 assignment. Students can find more information on the school website or from any English teacher. Some of the novels are even available for students to borrow for the summer. See an English teacher with questions.

Girls Basketball Tryouts for the 2019-2020
Girls in grades 9-12 will be May 28 – May 31 (Tuesday-Friday) from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. Each participant must have met all eligibility requirements including an up-to-date physical and provide their own transportation and proper attire. Please sign up with Coach Murphree during 4th Block or immediately after school.
Wresting 2019-20
Anyone Interested in Wrestling for the 2019-2020 season please see Coach Campbell some time during the day in room B2101 to get paperwork and to sign up before Friday, May 24.
Cross Country 2019-20
Cross Country Signups for 2019 XC are on the outside of the AVID room. We will have a Parent/Athlete meeting Wednesday, May 15, at 5:15 p.mm in the AMS Cafeteria.
