Reader Leaders Have a Successful First Quarter

Quarter 1 Reader Leaders set a high standard for the year. They created displays of books based on the UN Global Goals, wrote book reviews that were published on our website, and piloted the creation of book trailers using iMovie. They spent Tuesdays and Thursdays reading with kindergarten students. They were also a great help in assisting students with check in and check out in the mornings.

Tom Watson Visits Wiley!

Tom Watson, author of Stick Dog and Stick Cat, visited Wiley 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders in October. He taught students how to draw his characters, talked about writing, and signed our Wiley Author Globe.

Partners Read is Off to a Successful Start

Partners Read places mentors into WCPSS elementary schools to read with struggling first and second grade students. Volunteers from businesses or community organizations have the unique opportunity to develop one-on-one relationships with Wake County students, as they help them increase confidence and enjoyment in reading. We love our volunteers and appreciate the time they spend with our students.
