Principal's Message
Thank you to the families that donated water bottles and/ or their time for our annual walk-a-thon this past Friday. All students and staff had a great time! Please collect and turn in your monetary donations to the classroom teacher. This money is used only for the classroom.
Our Science Camp Fundraiser will be starting in October. This fundraiser will help to defray the cost of Science Camp for our 5th grade students at Harvey Green School. If you don't wish to participate in the fundraiser but would like to help with the cost of of camp, you can send a donation to the office. More information will be coming home in a couple of weeks.
We love celebrating your children's birthdays at school. We ask however, that you do not bring any food items to celebrate due to the many children with food allergies. Please talk with your child's teacher about other ways to celebrate.
Students are looking forward to the Fall Festival and Halloween. This year, we will be allowing students to dress up in their costume. We will be sending home guidelines for costumes soon. If you would like to volunteer for the Fall Festival please contact PTA at Harveygreenpta@gmail.com.
I also can use your help in keeping our campus safe, if you are here during non-school hours and see unsafe or illegal behavior, please call the non-emergency police number (510-790-6800).
Sincerely,
Ms. Johnson

Information about our New Report Cards
Forgotten Items/Lost and Found
All lunches, homework, projects, jackets or other materials forgotten at home must be delivered to the office. These items will be placed in the teacher's mailbox. We DO NOT allow parents to interrupt class to deliver forgotten items.
When dropping off student lunches, please mark with child's name and room number.
If your child has lost an item, please check the lost and found in the multi purpose room. Small items are in the office. I currently have a pair of glasses and an earring.
Extended Absences from School
Per FUSD School Board Policy 5113.1, students who have 10 consecutive unexcused absences will be dropped from enrollment and may re enroll at FUSD Student Support Services upon their return. They will be assigned to a school with an available space at that grade level. This may not be the school they were attending before the absence.
Independent Study (IS) contract may be granted for absences between 5 and 10 consecutive days. You must apply for the contract at least 10 school days before the start of the absence. Permission to have an IS contract is at the discretion of the school and will be based on the student's academic performance and their history with previous IS contracts. Students are allowed 3 contracts during Kindergarten through 12th grade in FUSD.
No Independent Study Contracts will be granted for the first 20 days of school or the last 20 days of school.
