The Importance of Hair at a Crime Scene
Hair fibers can play an important role in solving a crime. Hair samples are one of the first pieces of evidence looked for at the scene of a crime. Hair follicles are easily left and transferred from the scene of a crime and the suspect and or victim.
We can identify different types of hair by the thickness, or color of it. They can compare the different hair evidence from the scene to determine who or where the hair came from. Hair is important in linking a suspect to the crime.
