*A Message From Mrs. Barousse

As you know, I have served as SMS' Assistant Principal this school year and in that time, I have been warmly welcomed into the role and have come to understand that the students, staff, and families are at the core of what make East Greenwich a special school district. That is why it is with immense pride and great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the Principal of Samuel Mickle School, effective May 1st. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and truly appreciate the warm wishes that have been extended by families over the past few days. Maintaining a positive school culture and strong educational program is my utmost priority. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you ever have any questions. *Take Your Child to Work Day

*Recorder Concerts for Grade 4

Fourth grade recorder concerts will be held the week of April 24th in the LGI. Mr. McGarrigle has scheduled an individual concert time for each homeroom. We look forward to hearing the students play! Parents enter/exit the building through the LGI doors during the concerts.

*Poem in Your Pocket Community Event

On Saturday, April 29th and Sunday, April 30th, students are encouraged to stop in to participating local businesses and read or recite a poem. More information will be shared by Mrs. Wordelmann and Mrs. Ligameri!

• April 26: Infrastructure Trial

• May 8th-12th: NJSLA ELA and Math & Make Ups (May 9th-12th)

• May 15th-19th- NJSLA ELA and Math Make Ups & Grade 5 Science

*Home and School Communications

H&S will be sending a communication each week on Wednesdays at 6:00pm. Please be on the lookout!

*Parent Drop Off

Please have your students exit on the passenger side of the vehicle as a safety precaution. This allows your student to exit directly onto the sidewalk.

*Attendance

If your child is absent or going to be late, please remember to notify the school by calling the attendance line. The school number is 856-423-0412. Press 2 for the Samuel Mickle School. Then, press 1 for the Attendance Line.
