Sem Yeto Family Newsletter
Message from the Administrators
Thank you all so much for coming to the Back to School Night. It was great to see our parents and students walk the campus together meeting staff and gaining information about the school. If you missed the Back to School Night, here is the information that was shared by the administrators.
Back to School Night 2021/2022
We are still looking to individuals to participate in our various site committees (School Site Council, English Learner Advisory Committee, Mascot Selection Committee, etc). If you are interested in joining one of our committees, please complete the following form by October 1, 2021. These school committees are important to have BOTH students and parents/guardians involved. This will allow all stakeholders to have a say in the direction that Sem Yeto is moving.
Reminder: No School on September 6th, 2021
UPDATED CDPH GUIDANCE
The following is guidance related to COVID-19 and schools.
- Masks are mandatory for all K-12 students and adult staff in K-12 school settings when sharing indoor spaces with students;
There are no mask requirements (for students or staff) in outdoor settings;
Physical distancing no longer required with masking;
Fully vaccinated persons, without symptoms, do not need to quarantine;
There is a modified quarantine when unvaccinated students are exposed and wearing masks versus not wearing masks;
Based on this updated guidance from CDPH, Sem Yeto is asked to limit visitors and volunteers in indoor classroom settings and spaces where students are present.
NO persons (staff, students, or parents) should come to campus if they exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.
COVID-19 Safety:
1) Wear a mask when indoors around campus
2) Stay home if you or your student is exhibiting any signs or symptoms of sickness or if you have been exposed to an individual who is positive for COVID-19 (Close Contact)
2) Notify Mr. Hightower (jamesh@fsusd.org) and/or Mrs. Sherrod (larissas@fsusd.org) if your student is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or is a close contact.
Our ability to keep everyone safe and to keep our school open depends on our families and staff being cautious.
