A Minute with the LASes...

Let's try this again...

On Monday morning, you will find a scrabble letter in your mailbox. Feel free to make your letter into a necklace or carry it with you throughout the day. There will be yarn in the work room if you need it. Talk to and meet up with other staff members to create various words. We can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Elf Sightings

Congratulations to our first Elf Sightings raffle winner, Mrs. Anguita! The next raffle will be drawn next Friday! Each selfie you send in earns you one ticket. All of the tickets will remain in the pot for the final drawing! Check out some of the selfies below!

Imagine Learning (Think Through Math)

Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students have passed 84% of their on grade level lessons in Imagine Learning Math (TTM). Students have passed 2,256 on grade level lessons and 634 below grade level lessons, for a total of 2,890 lessons passed during this school year. That is an increase of 315 lessons passed during this past week! Please encourage our Ponies to keep up their good work. :-)

Our Kindergarten, first and second grade students have a new opportunity this year with the Imagine Learning Program. Throughout this week, our K-2 students will be visiting the computer lab for a benchmark assessment. In about 90 days, they will return for a second benchmark assessment to monitor their progress regarding grade level math concepts. We have high hopes these new assessments will provide teachers with valuable data regarding our K-2 math learning. :-)

Our I station data and Istation check-ins!

As you can tell, the majority of our students are In Tier I or Tier II. I have enjoyed doing the one on one check-ins with Kinder, 1st and 2nd grade. If I didn't get to meet with you (K,1st and 2nd), I will be sending you a calendar invite.

3rd, 4th and 5th, I will be using a different approach. I will be sending you instructions on how to fill out your cards to have our team Istation data check-ins in January.

Things to Remembers;

  • Continue doing guided reading with fidelity.
  • Use your Istation and Running Records data to regroup your guided reading groups.
  • Continue doing Pony Time with fidelity.
  • Send guided reading books home.
  • Talk to your students about their growth.
  • Continue implementing the SMART goals with your students in RTI. Track their growth.
  • Use the Learning Facilitators and coaches to support you in your guided reading.

Text Fluency was low across the grade levels. Remember that text fluency is tested different on Istation than on DRA/EDL/Running Records. Expose your students to practice regarding text fluency. Use the Istation resources on text fluency in your mini lessons or literacy stations.

See below for examples.
