Speech Portfolio

Intro:
In speech we have learned about many things. We've first learned, of course, how to write a speech. This includes the layout of a speech and choosing main points. We also learned how to give a speech. Also you should include the three main things you need in a speech. To inform, persuade, and to entertain. We learned how to make eye contact with the people you are giving your speech to, and talking loud enough for everyone can hear you. These are just a few things I have learned in Speech.
Favorite Speeches I have given so far.....
Speech #... How-To Speech.
The how-to speech was one of my favorite speeches because I actually got to bake cookies and share them with the class. I also enjoyed it because I like to bake, and it gave me an opportunity to bake for my class.
Speech #2... What I want to be when I grow up.
I liked this speech because it let me share with others what my thought is when I go off to college. What you want to be is an exciting thing because it determines who you are. I chose a hairdresser. Sometimes I feel that I would love to be a hairdresser, but still would love to be a stay-at-home mom. I think either would satisfy me.
Speech #3... Persuasive Speech.
In this speech we had to persuade people to agree with what you have decided to choose. I chose how to be a stronger Christian. This was a hard speech for me to write because I usually see Christianity as a grown-up thing to talk about, and it is hard to get your religion out in the open. I have to admit, after I gave this speech it felt good to share with my class, my beliefs.
Conclusion...
This class has kind of brought me out of my comfort zone. I really don't like to speek out-loud. Before each speech, I'm less and less nervous every time. The project that helped me learn the most was my persuasive speech. It helped me learn how to persuade people, and at the same time I was teaching my classmates my thoughts about Christianity.
