Is Canada the Best Country?
Of course....
What makes Canada the best country
Freedom and freedom, but then again out of the 207 sovereign states, around 180 of them have freedom. Although freedom is one of the greatest thing humanity can have, it is not what sets apart Canada from any other countries. Canada's growing population, it's interactions in the physical environment, it's resources and industries, and it's livable community are what puts Canada a step above the others.
Canada's Canadian Population
Canada has one of the most renowned immigration systems in the world, where no one is judged upon color or race and where all are welcome to stay. All that is needed is to be able to pass a non-biased immigration test. Due to these Canadian terms, everyday Canadians are comprised of many different cultures, races and religions most prevalent in large city areas such as Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Quebec. Each of these cities seem to have their own cultural parts like little Italy, China town etc. With an aging population, very soon most of the population will consist of adults. But the trend will definitely go down as we recognize the need to repopulate more and hopefully take a step away from technology to focus more on family. Our diversity driven community with the freedom to celebrate what we like is a large benefit to the people. We were even the fourth country to legalize same sex marriage in 2005 while most countries are still debating the matter. When the first British explorers arrived, they had originally hoped to find a new route to Asia, but stumbled upon a large piece of land that was unheard of, populated with natives that none have ever seen. This new land offered tons of resources and opportunities for the British. We even opened up large scale trading buisnesses along with the Natives. Thus when Canada was eventually formed in 1867, this changed the course of the world for years to come, along with the formation of the United States, our brother in arms, and trading.
The Land that makes the Nation
The geological piece of dirt and rock that is Canada is something to be in awe about. The diversity of Canada's regions and the vast amount of land that it covers is just shocking. Being the second largest country, (area wise) there are a lot of options of what Canadians can do with their land, whether for cultivation, resource mining, a highway, or a residential area, with all of the geological land forms, the options are abundant. From Canada's mountainous range in British Columbia to the flatland in the prairies. Canada also has the largest amount of the fresh water, which can affect our population, where we put our industries and where we settle. Canada boasts endless lakes and rivers. We have access to three oceans, and we boast one of the few places in the world you can ski and surf (outside) in the same day. You would never expect a polar region to be so close to a couple of prairies. The different land regions and biomes also introduce different types of species, with about 7032 native species residing in Canada, it can be quite a sight. The history behind how Canada came to be is quite exhilarating as well. Our Canadian shield, named that because of the way the outline formed shields soldiers would use during that time period, consist of ancient rock, some dating back 4 billion years old. It was formed when a large collection of tectonic plates collided and were built up, however this is the process most major continents had. As North America broke up from the large mass of continents, the westward drift across the ancient Pacific Ocean caused land masses to collide and be augmented with the western edge of the continent. This is how most of British Columbia was formed. Each province and territory has its own story for its formation and the land forms that surround it, giving Canada a rich history and a beautiful present.
Canada's Workhorse
The resources that are found within Canada are what makes up most of Canada's economy. About 80% of Canada's primary resources are exported. Some of our largest industries are primary resources but the largest export we have is the auto industry along with the export of oil. With the vast majority of resources in all of the different settings, it would be unwise to not tap into them. From lumber to the fishing industry, to mining, and even to the cultivation of land, Canada relies heavily on primary industries to function. The NAFTA agreement also makes it easier for us to trade among the United States and Mexico, eliminating trade tariffs which stimulated businesses between countries . Canada has so far experienced significant benefit from NAFTA: U.S. investment in automotive production, increases in oil exports to the U.S. and the rest of the world, increases in shipment of beef, agricultural, wood and paper products to the U.S., and the export of mineral and mining products, which have fared well in U.S. markets.

Primary Industry
Canada's primary industries are influenced by the biomes that surround them. One primary industry that is most prevalent is the mining industry, along the Canadian shield, to the coast of British Columbia, to the oil sands in Alberta, the mining industry has had one of the biggest impact on Canada's economy. But farming and fishing is just as important to us as mining is to Canada. Farming and fishing impacts us by giving us a choice to get fresh and local food such as the popular salmon.Canada is one of the largest agricultural producers and exporters in the world. As with other developed nations, the proportion of the population and GDP devoted to agriculture fell dramatically over the 20th century but it remains an important element of the Canadian economy.Following World War II the United Kingdom entered into contract for a large amount of agricultural commodities such as bacon, cheese, wheat, oats and barley. After the United Kingdom, the United States is Canada's largest external trade partner. Between 1943 and 1953, the average export of Canadian wheat was 347,200,000 bushels (9,449,000 t). The three year International Wheat Agreement of 1955, which really lasted 6 years, included exports of wheat or flour to 28 of 44 importing countries including Germany, Japan, Belgium, UK, and the Netherlands. Although secondary and tertiary industries have been very important as well, none have had a bigger impact on Canada than the primary industries.
Canada has some of the best political partners
Along with our ties with The United States, we have a huge political influence on the United Kingdom and areas in the middle east. This is not including trade partners. We have a deep bond with the British Empire, especially after WWI and 2. We were one of the first to fight in the first world war, we helped take Normandy, and continue to keep peace today in the East. Other than being allies in war with separate countries, we also have tons of political trade partners stretching across the Pacific and the Atlantic. These connections allow for broader and cheaper trading, and supplies we could not get anywhere else. With international trade, comes international business. It is easier for businesses to operate overseas which could lower prices for products for Canadians. This could also help other countries with high unemployment rates hire some people. If a country is in good terms with another, it makes the country more aces sable by immigrants or tourist from that area. This also means that new trade routes could open up, allowing for quicker and easier trade .
Keeping Canada the Best
No country is without problems. Although we are the best country, people believe that it will not last long. We need to keep Canada more sustainable so that it can continue thriving, for us now and for those in the future. To do this would require addressing the problems keeping Canada from a sustainable future. For one, our residential areas need a huge improvement. A future Canada should focus more on removing suburbs and introducing smaller houses to keep up with the growing population. Converting suburbs to high rise buildings will also mean that less roads would be needed to get around resulting in less cars. Thus, less pollution. This leads to our second problem. Transportation. A future Canada should focus on reducing the use of cars, probably by promoting public transit, introducing electric cars, paving more sidewalks and reducing the constructing of roads. Improving our industries are also a necessity, especially the food industry. Most of Canada's food is processed so Canada should also try to expand local food growth to feed the area around it instead of packaging it and selling it. Mining operations for oil should cease because of all the impacts it has on the environment. Instead we should use renewable energy and energy efficient products. By reducing our ecological footprint, Canada can continue to be the best country.
Conclusion
Canada is one of the best countries to reside in, and I recommend to all immigrating to arrive here. Due to our always welcoming boarders, our huge and diverse landscape, our resources, industries and businesses, and our global connections. If we can just focus on keeping Canada this way, we can keep Canada the best for generations to come.
