Hello Craftsbury Families,
We have had a great October. Staff and students are well into the swing of things and the first quarter is almost done. Our elementary, middle school and high school students have finished up successful soccer seasons and our boys cross country team just won the state championship for the 3rd year in a row. Parent teacher conferences are coming up November 10th and 11th. If you have not had a chance to sign up for one please contact your student’s teacher for one. If at anytime you have a question or suggestion please reach out to me.
Thank you,

Fire Safety Month
The Craftsbury Fire Department made a visit to the K-2 building! Students were able to meet members of the local fire department, explore a fire truck, and practice dialing 911. A key element of their visit was a tour of the Fire Safety House. The mobile classroom is specially designed to teach children vital burn-prevention and fire escape techniques.

Outside Exploration~
Each Friday, the students in third grade have enjoyed their Forest Friday!
The class went on their second trip to Woodlot where they learned French vocabulary for giving directions and learned how to navigate using a map. Orleans County Forester, Jared Nunnery, joined them to talk about the Tree Harvesting Project that the Tech Center will be participating in.
Reeve Basom, Place Based Education Coordinator also accompanied them.
Thank you to Jared and Reeve for joining us on this beautiful fall day!
Students in grades 3-5 enjoyed a fun day of community building at Hosmer Point!
