BOOSTERTHON!

We had a wonderful time at our Fun Run on Wednesday! Parents, we appreciate your help and support! Thanks to the generosity of our school community, we raised over $61,000 to support our school. This will help fund many programs, supplies and materials that our students and teachers will use throughout the year.

Please enjoy this highlight video Mrs. Leach made to document the fun day we had!

We Need You! School Improvement Council!

Please complete the information below no later than Wednesday, September 21st at 5pm, if you are interested in running for the open spaces on the School Improvement Council.

What is the School Improvement Council?

In South Carolina, a School Improvement Council is an advisory council to the principal and school on issues related to school improvement. By law, every K-12 public school in South Carolina must have an SIC that is made up of parent, teacher, student (grades 9-12), and community member representatives.

What does the SIC do?
• Assist in Preparing the School Improvement Plan
• Monitor Progress Toward Achieving School Improvement Plan Goals
• Develop, Plan, Support and Implement Improvement Activities
• Help the School Implement Activities in its Plans

Light it Up Gold for Amelia - Arts & Crafts Collection for Levine’s

In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and one of our very own KTES Knights, Amelia, we are collecting arts & crafts supplies for Levine’s Children’s Hospital. If you are interested in supporting this worthy cause, please check out our KTES Light it Up Gold Amazon Wish List to order items to be shipped to our school. If you prefer to send in or drop off wish list items, we are accepting items in new condition at the front office. We will collect items now through the end of the month. Please save the date to wear GOLD on Light it Up Gold Day at KTES on Thursday, September 29. We are excited to Light it Up Gold at Kings Town!

Morning Arrival Reminder

Please do not drop your children off before 7:05! Some students are being dropped off for Safety Patrol prior to that time, but we ask that no other students be let out until we have appropriate supervision. We also ask that walkers time their morning departure as best they can to arrive after 7:05. Thank you for helping us insure our students are safe!

SCDE Free Tutoring

The South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) and the South Carolina State Library (SCSL) are partnering to offer free online tutoring services, provided by Tutor.com, to any student in South Carolina. In addition to tutoring in content areas, students may also drop off papers for review, seek help in test preparation, or ask specific questions about their work. The around-the-clock service is available seven days per week.

Students can access Tutor.com through Discus (students must access it this way – if they just go to tutor.com if may not work). Every student has a link for Discus on their ClassLink LaunchPad. Elementary students have SC Discus Kids, and middle/ high have SC Discus. See pictures of the icons below.
