Physical Day at DHS

Saturday, May 1st, 8-10am

35000 West 91st Street

De Soto, KS

Who: Students entering grades 7–12 at DHS, MVHS, MCMS, LTMS and MTMS in the Fall of 2021. Parents must either accompany their student in order to sign the paperwork or send the signed KSHSAA Pre-Participation Physical Form with their students. The physical will be good for 2021-2022 school year activities. Doctors from the University of Kansas Health System will complete physicals in private rooms; nurses will take blood pressure; and coaches will measure height and weight.


Cost: $20 (For each physical $10 will be donated back to schools.) Cash/Check/Venmo are accepted payment methods. Venmo: @DeSotoWildcats (Please put Physical Day and Student name in the What's it for box.)

Congratulations to our Math Olympiad team! We had our final contest this month and finished strong. A special congratulations to our top 2 finishers: Avery Jones & Mason Stahl.

Cupcake Wars

8th graders showed off their baking and presentation skills last week during FACS. Our judges were thoroughly impressed by the high quality products!

A local conservation group, the Friends of the Kaw, came and helped our 7th graders learn about water quality issues and actions. It was hands-on, outdoor learning fun!

KTOY Nominations

It is time to recognize teachers for the Outstanding Educators they are. Please take a quick moment to nominate someone for the 2023 KTOY! There are qualifiers for who is eligible, but nominate whoever you feel deserves it.


The deadline is noon on Friday, April 16th. This year all staff nominations will be though the online nomination form. Here is the link to nominate an outstanding teacher, www.usd232.org/ktoy This can also be found on the district website under DEPARTMENTS, then Kansas Teacher of the Year (KTOY).
