NEWS FROM THE HEADS
I think I will begin with a sports result this week. On Thursday evening I was delighted to hear that we had beaten Beaconsfield High School for Girls, with the A team winning 3-1, and the B team 3-2. As ever I am so impressed with how the PE department get that quart out of a pint pot... I think Beccy High have more girls in Year 7 than we have in the whole school!

I started my week at school on Tuesday with an assembly to celebrate Winnie-the-Pooh day. Winnie-the-Pooh can teach us a lot about the world and also about people. Everyone in the world is different and A.A. Milne captures this so well with his fantastic troupe of characters.

Year 12 Young Enterprise Trade Fair - Saturday 23 January
Come and support the Year 12 Claires Court Young Enterprise team Critical Clothing at the Young Enterprise Trade Fair at the Nicholson Centre Maidenhead on Saturday. Together with twenty other school teams they will be selling their clothing in the unit opposite Tesco in the centre from 9.30am-3.00pm. Help the Claires Court team to be winners again this year.

Year 11 Girls have been given letters/consent slips about the Meningitis ACWY.
Orchestral Day - Friday 12 February
Instrumental pupils from Years 3-13 have been invited to participate in a workshop day, playing with pupils from other schools in an orchestra, held at the Senior Girls site. Pupils have a received a letter with information about the day which culminates in a concert at 4.30pm. Please can girls return the letter to confirm their attendance as soon as possible. Parents are warmly invited to attend the concert.

Can you please refrain from parking on the pavement at the corner of College Road/Grassy Lane - it is difficult for pedestrians/pushchairs to get past the cars.

Here is the information for the Stock Market exercise for Week Two:
First place: Georgia Fewkes with a profit on the week of £1744.95 - she continues to recommend investing in Premier Vet in the Pharmaceuticals sector.
Second place: Kumika Nakai with a profit on the week of £618.86 - she recommends investing in Jardin Matheson in the Engineering and Industrial sector.
Third place: Oluwanifemi Oladoyinbo with a profit on the week of £48.31 – she recommends investing in Rangold Res in the Mining sector.
We offer specialised activities for older children every holiday… Sports Club held at Junior Boys is running Multi-Sports days from Tue 16 to Thu 18 Feb for children in year 3 and above. There are also kool Xtra clubs running at Holiday Club in College Avenue available for children in year 5 and above. Spend dedicated days with… Animal themed Cookery on Wed 17 Feb, where you’ll make and decorate edible animals, and Crafts on Thu 18 Feb will join the animal theme to experiment with textile printing on different fabrics. **Please book Xtra early to avoid disappointment!**

BBC 500 Words Competition
Aged between 5 and 13? Like writing stories? Then the 2016 500 Words competition is just for you!
Write an original story on any subject or theme in 500 Words or fewer and submit it online. If you win, your story will be read live on the radio by a superstar celebrity… AND in the year of Shakespeare's 400th anniversary, the final will be live from the home of British story-telling, Shakespeare's Globe, on the 27th May.
