Faith and Fun Youth Ministry Movie Night
Hello Parents of MBSC Youth Ministry,
This past Saturday evening the Most Blessed Sacrament Church Youth Ministry had our Faith and Fun Youth Ministry Movie Night. Our Youth had a wonderful time in fellowship as we took special time to discuss the "Lord's Prayer", and we had a short Bible study on the meaning of John 3:16. However, the highlight of the night was our Teen movie, "God's Not Dead", which had a profound and lasting effect on our Youth.
"God's Not Dead" is about a college student who is challenged by his philosophy professor to prove that God exists amidst the temptation to admit that "God Is Dead." The movie is about this freshman college students' journey with this professor, and the conflict with his faith and a mainstream culture that is often hostile to it. In the end, this student proves courageous in standing up for his faith, and showing the power of God's love to countless other students around him.
This movie had a timely message for our Youth as many of them are faced with a similar choice, daily, of living their faith at school, on campus, and amongst their peers. Now, more so than ever, do they have to choose between following the mores of a culture that in many respects has chosen another path contrary to their own, and the convictions that rest upon their hearts thru the teachings of the church.
This event was great for our Youth and I thank all of our parents who allowed their Teens to participate, and who helped make this event a success for our students.
In closing, as we bring this Youth Ministry year to a close, I have captured some of the special moments from our Year. Please continue reading below, and see all that we have accomplished thru our Most Blessed Sacrament Youth Ministry.
