A few reminders so you can stay in the know:

~ COVID-19 Testing Information for Parents: This was sent home as a paper copy this week, and it's also linked here for your reference. Please consider this important mitigation strategy for your child. AND...please, please, please keep your child home if they have any symptoms OR if someone in the household is sick and waiting for test results. Even mildly symptomatic students should be kept home to monitor and possibly tested before sending back to school. Common symptoms to look for are below. Your help with this is needed!!

~ Late Start Sign-Up: If you are in need of child care for our Late Start next Tuesday, September 21 you MUST register by tomorrow!!! This registration process is critical so that we have enough staff to support students. HERE is the link to register.

~ Walk-A-Thon: The Roosevelt PTO plans to do our annual Walk-A-Thon fundraiser on Friday, October 15. We will kick off this event at school on Friday, September 24, so be looking for information to come home with your child on this day. The is the PTO's ONE & ONLY fundraiser, and it's a simple, awesome event!!! Thank you, in advance, for your support!

~ Receipts = Cash for Roosevelt: When the cashier asks you if you want your receipt, say yes!! There are two very simple ways to raise money for Roosevelt Elementary using receipts!

Hy-Vee’s Cash 4 Kids program gives schools a percentage of the receipts (except Hy-Vee gas stations) collected throughout the school year. Start saving your Hy-Vee receipts and drop them to the office or send them with your students.

BoxTops for Education has changed over the last couple years; while there are still a couple random products with clippable boxtops, the program is almost all digital now. Download the App and begin scanning your grocery receipts. Pro-tip: scan all your receipts even if you aren’t sure you purchased a boxtop product, you might be surprised! ~ Breakfast: Please make sure your child is to school promptly in order to get the breakfast process started right away. Thank you!!!!!

~ Wanna order some cool Roosevelt gear? Below are the instructions if you would like to order some super cool Roosevelt swag/gear. The store will remain open through SEPTEMBER 19 with orders completed approximately 2-3 weeks after that date. UTE will deliver all orders to school, and the orders will be individually packaged and boxed by homeroom teacher. You can view the site directly HERE.

~ Masks: Just a friendly reminder that masks are required for anyone who enters our building. Should this be a concern, please email or call me. If you are a parent who is coming into the office for any reason, please be certain you are masked.

~ Substitute Teaching: Have you ever thought about being a substitute teacher? Our sub pool is quite limited this year, and we are on the hunt for interested individuals to consider this opportunity. A 4-year Bachelor's Degree is required, and you would need to obtain a substitute license, but we can help with that process. AND...if you only wanted to sub here at Roosevelt, and nowhere else, we could help to support this. If you have any inkling that you might want to do this, please reach out to me!!!

~ School Pictures: These are currently scheduled for during the school day on Friday, October 8.
