Howell Alum Adam Long Earns Spot In U.S. Open
Registration Deadline For Fall Activities & Sports Is August 3rd
For the 2020-21 school year the Howell MSHSAA eligibility process has moved to a completly online format. The new format is aimed at streamlining the process and making it quicker and easier for Howell student-participants involved in a MSHSAA sponsored activity to be cleared and eligible to participate. This new format will make the entire process "paperless" and will also allow families to carry over information from year to year and across all family members. The new online eligibility website can be found at www.howellvikings.com on the right side of the page by clicking the "MSHSAA Activities/Sports Registration (Eligiblity)" tab. Below you can find a step by step guide that has been established to help Viking families complete the eligibility process.
Those that are interested in participating in a fall activity or sport must have their online eligibility registration complete by August 3rd. Online registration must be complete and final clearance given in order to tryout for a fall activity or sport on August 10th. If final clearance is not complete by August 3rd the Activities Department will send communication via email during the week of August 3rd regarding what pieces are needed for completion. Those that have questions or issues can now also view a tutorial video that has been developed that will walk you through the entire process. You can view the video below.

Safety Guidelines & Measures To Continue As Fall Activities & Sports Begin
1.) Masks/Gaitors - Fall programs will be recommending that student-participants and coaches come to practice each day with a face covering. The preferred face covering for those involved in activities and sports is the "gaitor" style face coverings which allow for quick and easy use. When student-participants are not able to social distance they will be asked to utilize the face coverings at practices and activities. This component is one of the most important pieces in ensuring the safety of students and preventing a large group of students within a program or an entire program from being unable to participate for 14 days because of the health department and MSHSAA guidelines regarding guarantine that we must follow.
2.) Spectators - In order to limit the number of people we have on campus and in our venues we will continue to not allow spectators at our practices and tryouts. Parents should drop their student off and then come back to pick up their student at the conclusion of practice. This is the same process that has been in place since July 1st in all activities on campus.
3.) Water - All students will be asked to bring their own water source each day. It is essential that students hydrate prior to attending their practice and bring their own water source to their activity or sport each day.
4. Hand Sanitizer/Disenfectant - Hand sanitizer and disenfectant will be available at the practice facilities and sights and also from our athletic trainer. Students and coaches will be workign to keep equipment wiped down regularly and our custodial staff will be working to disenfect areas following practices and workouts.
