MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
2nd Sunday of Advent
Second Sunday of the Advent is this Sunday, 5 December, 2021. The second candle (Peace) is lit on this day along with the first candle (Hope).
This Sunday’s Gospel takes us to the beginning of Mark’s Gospel, where Mark introduces his account of the ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus. “As the journey of Advent continues, we prepare to celebrate the nativity of Christ, John the Baptist's call to conversion sounds out in our communities.
The message of John was clear; Jesus is not far away. Now is the time to get ready. If you want to share in his Spirit, prepare yourselves. Seek a genuine and sincere change of heart.
Living Advent: Practice for the Week
Each of us is called to be a ‘messenger’ of God in this world.
Contact someone in your family, parish or community who you know needs to hear an encouraging word at the moment. Spend a little time with them.
Booklists 2022
There will be NO Booklists for 2022 for all year levels as the school has made bulk order purchases, saving parents money. The cost of each year level’s book bulk order will be a separate item added to next year’s school fees. If you have any questions regarding the book bulk orders, please contact Mrs Marjorie Dohnt who will be able to help you.

Sport Update
It has been a very hectic term for Sport in Term 4, there have been 5 carnivals which so many children have participated in. We had two Athletics Carnivals, a Baseball Competition, a Triathlon and last week's Summer Carnival with cricket, tennis and beach volleyball being the sports played.
As usual, the students of St Lukes' were outstanding, and the Staff who helped did an amazing job as well.
A special thanks to all the parents who helped in so many ways, this term and throughout the year, your support is invaluable.

Parent Self-Care Matters
Parents are known for putting their childrenʼs needs ahead of their own. With the mantra of ʻbe involvedʼ in your childʼs life a dominant parenting message, itʼs now common for parents to neglect their own social and wellbeing to give their children the best possible start in life. This selfless approach is commendable, but questionable if it means you are constantly stretched, child will exhaust you at times so itʼs important to replenish, refresh and reinvigorate yourself.

Approximately $300 was raised so thank you everyone for shopping locally and supporting the P & F.
Class Representatives for 2022
Still looking for some fun goals for 2022?
Why not make being your child’s class representative one of them? Meet great families, learn who is in your child’s class, grow the St Luke’s Community and make an impact! The role is rewarding, and the minor commitments are easy to manage. Please forward your interest to the P and F parentsstlukes@outlook.com to ensure each year group is covered before school commences in 2022.
Save the Date
Finally due to the amazing success of this year’s Evening on the Green, the P and F would love for you to SAVE THE DATE of Friday 18th February 2022, for next year’s special night. Be sure to ask someone at Christmas to gift you all the picnic kit you need and join our community as we welcome the new school year in. As we all know there’s so much to celebrate when school begins in February!
Speaking of picnics and entertainment we are all looking forward to seeing our school community at the Christmas Concert this Friday night. Thank you to all the St Luke’s staff for preparing the students to put on a great show.
Playgroup
This Friday at the farewell assembly there will be an official opportunity to say goodbye and thank you to all the wonderful staff who have served at St Luke’s.
The P & F wishes them well as they embark on a new journey and thanks everyone who has worked tirelessly for the school. We wish Mr Kelly all the best on his new adventure next year, we know that the new school community will benefit greatly from his wisdom and care, and we know that St Luke’s CPS will only grow and thrive on the strong foundation that Mr Kelly has created in the 4 years with us.
Thank you, Mr Kelly for all your time, expertise, passion, enthusiasm, dedication, and insight. When you arrived in 2018 your focus was on the children of St Luke’s and 4 years on your focus has not wavered. We wish yourself and Mrs Kelly a blessed Christmas and restful New Years before the adventure begins.
