Important Information

Weather Change and Dressing Appropriately

As the weather changes with the transition to fall, we wanted to remind parents and guardians that students should be wearing sweatshirts and jackets to school, and in turn, at recess. We have a high volume of students complaining about how cold it is outside and we are limited in the number of jackets we can have students borrow. If you need help in obtaining outerwear, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Student Progress Reports and Report Cards

This is just a heads up that all schools will be shifting to digital progress reports (coming out the week of October 24) and report cards beginning this school year.

It's Red Ribbon Week!

Red Ribbon Week is nationally recognized and was developed in 1988 to promote an awareness of the dangers of alcohol and other drugs. During the week of October 24th-28th, we will have special activities to educate our students on the dangers of drugs and the importance of making positive and healthy life choices. Please help your child celebrate and honor Red Ribbon Week by participating in the fun theme days we will be having all next week! Quakertown Elementary School is PROUD to be DRUG FREE!

Monday, Oct 24th - “Rally in Red Against Drugs” - Students wear Red!

Tuesday, Oct. 25th - “Your Choices are the Key to Your Dreams” - Wear Pajamas to School

Wednesday, Oct. 26th - “Team Up Against Drugs” - Wear Spirit Wear or Team Jersey

Thursday, Oct. 27th - “From Head to Toe I am Drug-Free” - Wear Fun Silly Socks and Hair.

Friday, Oct. 28th - Too Cool for Drugs” - Wear Bright or Neon colors!

Dine and Donate - 10/28

Quakertown Elementary PIE is hosting our first dine and donate night (actually it runs all day) on Friday, October 28 at Honeygrow. If you order, you have to use promo code: GIVE133, and PIE will earn 20% of the sale, which then goes back to our students!!

Fall Parade

Quakertown Elementary School would like to have a Fall Parade celebrating Halloween again this year and we are inviting our students to bring their Halloween costumes on Monday, October 31, 2022, which is also a day that classrooms will be holding their fall parties. The following schedule will be in place that day:

9:20 PM - 2:00 PM Regular academic schedule

2:00 PM - 2:30 PM Students will change into their costumes

2:30 PM - 3:00 PM Students and faculty parade on the sidewalks surrounding QE

3:00 PM - 3:45 PM Fall parties in classrooms (more information to come from your

child’s teacher)

3:50 PM Regular dismissal

For the parade route, we will leave QE from the bus lane doors and turn right on the sidewalk toward 6th Street. We will turn right onto 6th Street, then turn right onto Park Avenue, and then finally right onto 7th Street. The parade route will end on the playground blacktop, where students will line up on the perimeter where they can catch a glimpse of the other classes as they walk by. We encourage parents to gather along the parade route for photos to get a chance to see the costumes, but please do not join the parade itself.

On the day of the parade, please have your child bring their costume in bags with their names on them. Students will not be permitted to wear costumes between arrival and 2:00 PM. Since children will be changing into their costumes at school, it would be appreciated if costumes fit over school clothes to minimize the time and effort needed to change. Additional faculty members will be available to assist with costume changes. Appropriate costume masks will be permitted to be worn once students are outside the building.

Our school district and our school are always concerned about safety so we ask for your cooperation by providing a costume that does not encourage or focus on violence. As per the Student Code of Conduct, weapons, or replicas of them, are not permitted as part of your child’s costume and should not be brought into school.

Students, who for religious reasons do not celebrate Halloween, will be invited to stay in the library with supervision during the costume changing time and parade to play games. Students not participating in the parade will be invited back into the classroom for their party at 3:00 PM.

Thanks for your help in making sure this is a successful and fun day for our students!

Student Arrival Concerns

We are starting to notice a high volume of students who are getting to school exceptionally early to hang out with their peers and this is becoming a safety and discipline issue. Unfortunately, we do not have adult supervision until 8:40 AM for breakfast and 9:05 AM once the doors open. We have had students show up as early as 7:45 AM (that's almost an hour before breakfast begins) and others arriving at 8:20 AM (20 minutes before breakfast).

While there has not been an official policy surrounding student arrival times, I'm asking that students do not arrive more than 5 minutes prior to breakfast (8:40 AM) and no more than 5 minutes prior to the first bell (9:05 AM) if they are not eating breakfast. We will begin communicating home for any students who continue to get to school too early.

We earned a QCEF Grant for $5,000!

We recently applied for the QCEF grant in order to help us purchase a book vending machine for QE and we earned the grant! QCEF generally provides $1,000 grants but our proposal was so convincing that they had no choice but to give us the $5,000 that we requested:) We are currently working with the company on a design and we will unveil the "surprise" to students once it arrives. If interested in reading the proposal, you can find it here!

LinkIt Parent Accounts

Currently, 2022-2023 benchmark data from the fall is now available, as well as historical assessment data, if that applies to your child/children. For those with children in elementary and/or middle school, DIBELS and Spring Math data will be available later this week or early next week.

For parents/guardians of previously enrolled students:

Please login to your Parent Portal account, using your email address and your self-selected password, assuming you previously set up an account.

If you know you previously set up an account but do not remember the password, please click the Parent Portal account link and under the login area select “lost password.” There you will enter your email address and will be sent a link to reset your password.

If you do not believe you have an account and your child(ren) are not newly registered in our district, or if you are missing students from your account once logged in, please submit a response to QCSD via this form.

For parents/guardians of new students/kindergarteners:

You will receive an email directly from LinkIt! to set up your account in the next 24 hours. The email address on file in Powerschool is the email address used to create the new parent portal account. Please check your SPAM/junk if you do not receive it.

QCSD will support initial setup, but password support is done directly through the LinkIt! website. Once you successfully login, you will be able to access your student’s data and scores. Information about the LinkIt! Parent Portal can be found on the QCSD website.
