The HRS Leader

Region 9 High Reliability Schools-May 2019

Big picture

Let's Celebrate!

The end of the year is a great time to celebrate, and we want to do the same! We have had 22 campus certifications this year alone, and we are so proud of all the hard work these campuses have put in to accomplish this.

That brings out total certifications to...

Level 1: 37 campuses

Level 2: 25 campuses

Level 3: 9 campuses

We can't wait to see what next year holds!

R9 HRS Mini Summit

We will be celebrating these campuses at the R9 HRS Mini Summit. District Level Certification Celebrations will take place Tuesday, June 25 at 9am. Campus Level Certification Celebrations will be that same day at 1:45pm. We can't wait to celebrate these campuses!

We do hope you are making plans to attend the Mini Summit. We are so glad that 3 Marzano Research associates will be joining us at keynote speakers. We also have a fantastic lineup of breakout sessions presenting by administrators and teachers from right here in Region 9.

Not only will the content be phenomenal, but this is a great opportunity for collaboration and networking with other HRS districts and campuses. AND...we have door prizes!

We've added an #R9SummitChallenge as a way to make these last few days a little more engaging and fun. By tweeting a picture or video of yourself completing the tasks on the challenge board, you're entered into a drawing for lunch with Dr. Tina Boogren June 26 during the R9 HRS Mini Summit (and a copy of her book!). We hope you'll encourage your colleagues and staff to participate!

You can find the choice board here.

Summer Professional Development Sessions

A Look Ahead at 2019-20

Cohorts 1, 2 and 3

We know that campuses in our Cohorts 1, 2 and 3 are still working on sustaining current HRS Levels in addition to continuing to advance in the framework. That means you may need additional training or a refresher on certain aspects of HRS. Take a look at the training calendar below for Cohorts 4 and 5 to see what topics will be covered throughout the year. You and your campus are able to send participants to any of these sessions. You do not have to send an entire leadership team and can use these sessions to "catch up" on topics or as refresher courses. We do ask that you register in advance so that we can be prepared for the correct number of attendees.

Please note that any session on the schedule that includes Action Planning will require survey data at that particular level. These surveys can be found in your HRS Handbook and will need to be administered locally. These can be done through Google forms, Survey Monkey, etc.

As you are looking at the schedule, keep in mind that those sessions in Cohort 5 will be presented to leadership teams completely new to the HRS process while those being conducted with Cohort 4 groups will assume some level of understanding as they are in their second year of HRS.

Cohorts 4 and 5

Cohorts 4 and 5 will receive additional leadership training in the 2019-20 school year. You can find the schedule below. These campuses will also have new ASOT training sessions (for a brand new ASOT team) as well, which are also found on the schedule.
