Baby Steps to Improve Health

Taking a few small steps to change lifestyle habits can get you on your way to a healthier, happier you! Unsure where to start? Here's some tips!

Set out easy-to-eat fruit // Grapes, clementines, and other sweet fruits are a fast and easy snack, sure to ease your sweet tooth

Add an hour of sleep to your schedule // Good sleep helps your body function better, 7-9 quality hours of sleep per night is recommended

Replace one drink per day with water // Say au revoir to one of those sodas or sports drinks and replace it with a glass of crisp, refreshing water

Daily relaxation // Don't have a ton of free time? No problem! Take 15-20 minutes daily to practice yoga, meditation, coloring books, whatever makes you feel the most stress free

Slow down at mealtime // Make sure you're giving your body time to register that it's consuming food and getting full - you'll end up reducing your calorie intake

Walk a little more // This is genuinely as easy as it sounds; parking a little bit farther away from the door at the store adds a couple of minutes to your walk time

Add variety to your salad // Replace lettuce with spinach, red lettuce, and/or other leafy vegetables that are higher in nutrients [Bonus points if you can grow your own!]

Please be sure to mark your calendars for the following CHAMPPS meeting dates:

  • December 12th
  • March 6th
  • May 15th

// More information regarding these upcoming meetings will be sent out at a later date \\

Tired of giving out candy to trick-or-treaters? Here's some fun alternatives!

Glow bracelets! You can find a pack of 300 on Amazon, for just over $20!

Pencils! Who doesn't love a good pencil? Find cute pencils covered in pumpkins that the kiddos can show off when they go school!

Temporary tattoos! Super cute and easy on the bank account.

Bouncy balls! Because parents LOVE when their child(ren) come home with another bouncy ball!

Vampire teeth! Vampires will never go out of style.

Gliders! These planes double as a project AND a toy!

Erasers! It doesn't sound too exciting - but, Smile Makers has colored erasers shaped like headstones with various phrases [[i.e. GRAVE YARD SHIFT]]

Don't stop there! There are plenty of candy alternatives. Be creative!
