GISD Social Emotional Resource Phone Line
The GISD Social Emotional Resource phone line is live!
The phone number is 810-591-HELP (810-591-4357).
Students or parents can call this line and be connected with a licensed professional from the GISD (social workers, counselors, therapists) during the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. Callers are able to leave a message after hours and will receive a call back during operational hours.
The licensed professional answering the call may assist in the following areas:
- Provide support to assist students and parents dealing with stressful situations.
- Provide assistance in accessing resources and getting the help students/families need.
- Refer students/families to other local and county agencies for additional support.
It is important to note that the intention of the phone line is not to provide telehealth therapy. If it is deemed that therapy may be needed, families will be assisted through a referral process.

The Personal Development Project FB Group
Welcome!!!!
We are so excited to have you join our group! We are 2 Certified Personal Development Coaches who specialize in working with kids all the way to young adults. We are going through a very tough time right now, and we want to make that easier for your children, and honestly for you too!
We have put together a FREE 6 week Personal Development Social Program that will be virtual through a program called Zoom that's 100% free for you. Each week we will cover a positive topic, guide the kids to share to help them socialize and give them a challenge for the week to keep them engaged throughout the week. We want this to be their HAPPY PLACE! After every social, our goal is that they feel inspired, lifted up, positive and are excited to do their challenge of the week! Every week we will post the zoom link in the group and all you have to do is click it and log on- it's that easy! **And to keep your kiddos protected, everyone is REQUIRED to have their video turned on so we can ensure that everyone in the group is age appropriate.**
We have also created a 6 Week Personal Development Challenge Calendar that you can print off and put on the fridge to help keep their creative energy flowing every day and to give them satisfaction to check something off every day. (parents can join in on the challenge too :) )
We will have 6 groups total and each group has an allotted day and time slot for their social! This will keep it age and gender appropriate! The socials will be for one hour. We are also hoping that they hour the spend with us, will free up an hour for you, so you have some time to yourself! That's important too!
