Jump Rope for Heart

This year our school is participating in Jump Rope for Heart. Students and staff will be raising money for the American Heart Association and to promote a heart healthy lifestyle.

Students were introduced to this fundraiser in an assembly. During the month of February, please collect money donations from family and friends for this worthy cause.

All money/pledges are due on Friday, February 26th.

On Monday, February 29th, we will celebrate our efforts with a Jump Rope for Heart Event from 4:00-5:45 PM after school. This event will include many jump rope station activities. We look forward to this worthwhile and fun initiative and event.

Fifth Grade Camp Parent Meeting-Save the Date!

All fifth grade parents are invited to join our fifth grade staff and Mr. Drewno on Wednesday, February 24th from 6:30-8:00 PM in the Media Center to discuss fifth grade camp. Fifth grade camp takes place April 13-15th this year, but we must plan for this together. Information and details about camp will be shared with parents. This meeting is designed for fifth grade parents only. Our staff will be going over much of this information with students during the school day. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us.

The African American Parent Network has partnered with the Walled Lake Consolidated School District and we’ll be hosting a Black History Month event. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, February 23, 2106 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Walnut Creek Middle School in West Bloomfield, MI.

We're bringing in a traveling African American History Museum to the school that will feature rare original artifacts and original documents from some of our greatest African American leaders. We'll serve light refreshments and there will be a musical selection provided with an African dance performance.

This is an insightful, educational experience for ALL parents and students.

Kindergarten Orientation Information

Incoming kindergartners must be five-years-old on or before September 1, 2016.
Exception: According to Michigan Law, a child may be enrolled in kindergarten
if he/she is not five years of age on September 1, 2016 but will be five years of
age not later than December 1, 2016 and parent or legal guardian notifies the school
district in writing (Kindergarten Waiver Form) that he or she intends to enroll the
child in kindergarten.

Incoming kindergarten parents for the 2016-2017 school year are cordially invited to attend the Kindergarten Orientation on Wednesday, March, 16, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at each of our elementary schools.

Research indicates that developmentally appropriate full-day schedules benefit kindergarten children academically, socially and emotionally. Our principals and teachers understand this and are well equipped to meet the needs of our kindergarten students.

Our kindergarten students begin to learn a whole host of reading, writing and mathematics concepts and learning strategies that give them the foundation for a successful elementary school career in Walled Lake Schools.

Kindergarten Vision Screen Available

Please call the Oakland County Health Department at 248-424-7070 to schedule an appointment.

Morning Drop Off Reminder

Please remember that students being dropped off by car in the morning should use our car rider line system. Many parents are dropping students off in our parking lot, which is a serious safety issue for students in the morning. Please use our drop off line. It is safe, quick, and the best way to drop off students in the morning. Thank you for your help in keeping our students safe every day at Dublin. Also, please remember that the tardy bell rings at 8:55 AM. Students that arrive after 8:55 AM are tardy for school.

Also, parents must walk students into the office if they are tardy in the morning. Many parents are dropping students off late for school and not checking them in. We need your help with this. Thank you!!
