Dear Northpoint families,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! We are getting ready for the first day of school Tuesday, September 7, 2021. I am very excited to welcome our returning and new students to what will be a wonderful year. We are ready to make the most of being together five days a week. Our teachers have been working throughout last spring and this summer to design engaging work for our students. We will be reviewing and updating individual learner maps and profiles in order to create the most personalized experience possible for each child.
We’re including here things you will want and need to know as the school year begins. The public health situation surrounding COVID-19 continues to change daily. We will update you if health and safety plans and practices change. In the meantime, you can find the latest updates on the COVID-19 hub.
We look forward to welcoming our students to school. If you have questions, comments or concerns, they are always welcome. Please reach out. We look forward to partnering with you throughout the year as we all support our children’s learning.
See you at Meet and Greet!

Getting to and from school
If your child rides the bus, bus information, including bus stop, pick up and drop off times is expected to be mailed to homes the week of August 23. Please plan for your student to ride the bus on the first day of school to help us work out all of our routines and eliminate as much confusion as possible.
Students may be dropped off at school no earlier than 9 a.m. If your child will be dropped off and picked up by a parent, we will be having both a car line and allowing parents to walk-up this year. For parent drive-up, we will be dismissing students from the gym to meet their parents in the drive-up line. We ask that parents post a sign in their windshield with their child’s first and last name, and their home room teacher during dismissal. We count on this information to help the process go as efficiently as possible. Parents may begin to line up in front of the building starting at 3:35. Staff will help us get into routines to ensure the process goes smoothly and safely.
If parents wish to walk up to the building to drop off or to get their student, they should use the crosswalk to come to the main entrance. Students may not be dropped off prior to 9 a.m. Students will be allowed to enter the building at 9:10 a.m., unless they are eating breakfast at which time they may enter at 9 a.m.
At the end of the day, parents walking up to gather their children need to wait outdoors until students are dismissed at 3:55 p.m. For safety purposes, we will not allow children to leave the sidewalk and go into the crosswalk and parking lot unattended. They must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
