Awards Ceremonies
For 6th & 7th grade this will take place on the last day of school, Friday, June 9th! If a student is receiving an award from your class or team (as you indicated on the google doc) please call and personally invite the parents of the student you are honoring! The 6th grade ceremony will be at 9:15 & the 7th grade ceremony will be at 11:00! Please be sure to dress professionally; no jeans on this day.
The 8th grade Promotion Ceremony & Awards will be held on Thursday, June 8th at 6:00pm in the Main Gym. All students are encouraged to attend so that they can walk across “stage” and receive their certificate promoting them to high school! We will also honor individual students that are receiving awards from their classes (as indicated on the google doc). Students will be seated on the gym floor in chairs, parents & visitors will be in the bleachers! We are hoping that the Promotion Ceremony will become a new tradition here at CMS that students look forward to! All 8th grade teachers and encore teachers should be present. Please dress professionally.
Safe Schools Training - Upcoming deadline
The last required module, Customer Service Overview, began March 27, 2017 through June 9, 2017. All staff are required to complete this module. Please contact Mr. Lord if you have any questions.
Last day of school stuff
On the final day of school, encore teachers will take students to the awards' ceremony, and ALL teachers are expected to be in attendance at the awards ceremony. You will be given a simple schedule where you have an assigned encore time and an assigned lunch time, then the rest of the time is up to you as a team or grade level on what you choose to do. Both awards ceremonies will probably last about 90 minutes.
The end of year staff luncheon will be on Friday after students dismiss around 1:15pm. We will all gather in the media center. The primary focus of this luncheon is to celebrate the end of the school year as well as the staff members we have. We will be recognizing multiple staff members. Lunch will be catered, but it would be awesome if you would bring your favorite drink or dessert.
Items to note from the Curriculum/Instruction Department
Curriculum Review Week will be occurring the week after school ends. In order for our teams to effectively revise the curriculum documents, teachers need to feedback on the units. The links to the feedback forms are linked below the curriculum documents. They are also provided below for your convenience.
PLCs also need to complete the PLC performance rubric by June 9.
Please take a look at the district PD offerings on August 14-16 (uncapped workdays). Awesome way to learn and work on those CEUs.

The SLT meeting on June 12th will focus on the SCHOOL supply list; IB Policy, and feedback in planning for next school year. Please share any thoughts you have with your school leadership team rep (grade level chairs and department chairs).
For those of you moving out of classrooms completely, ALL belongings MUST be out by end of the day on Monday, June 12th. No exceptions.
