Community Service!!!
If you have not submitted documentation of your 30 hours of community service, you must do so immediately in order to be eligible for graduation on June 2. This is a graduation requirement and students will not receive a diploma or participate in the graduation ceremony if it is not complete.
Commencement 2023
The event you've all been waiting for... Graduation!!!
The Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2023 will be held on June 2 at 6pm. The ceremony will take place on Dorunda Field at HRHS.
Rain Date: The rain date for our commencement ceremony is June 3 at 6pm. We have had beautiful weather for the past two years, so fingers are crossed for the same this year!
Rehearsal: Graduation rehearsal is on the same day as graduation, June 2, at 11am. This is mandatory for all seniors. Seniors should come in regular clothing and should not wear caps and gowns for rehearsal.
Caps & Gowns: Students will receive their caps, gowns, and parking passes at Senior Awards Night on May 30. Seniors who do not attend Awards Night can get their caps, gowns, and parking passes at the Elementary School Walkthroughs or Senior Banquet on June 1.
Guests: Given the large space that we have at our outdoor ceremony, there is no limit to the number of guests that each senior is allowed to invite. There is, however, a limit on the number of parking passes that each senior will be given.
Parking: Because of the limited spaces in our parking lot, all seniors will be given two parking passes for Commencement (seniors will receive their passes with their caps and gowns). These two passes are for the senior and for any guests, so we recommend that seniors get dropped off or carpool. Additional parking will be available at the town parking lot near the church (up at the top of Stage Rd.). Guests who park at the town parking lot will need to walk to and from the ceremony.
Accessibility: If you or a family member/friend need a handicap parking spot reserved for graduation, or if you have a guest who will need help getting from the parking lot down to the field, please email Alesia Estabrook at aestabrook@hr-k12.org and she will help you with these accommodations. We will have numerous handicap spots available as well as a shuttle down to the field for those with mobility issues.
Graduation Seating: Guests should plan to bring their own seats to graduation- most choose to bring camping/soccer chairs and/or blankets to sit on. Following in the tradition from the last two years of our outdoor graduation ceremony, we have assigned each family to a random spot on the field for graduation seating. An email with your spot number will be emailed on Monday, May 22. Click here to view the layout of the field for graduation day. Please know that there is no bad spot- you will have a clear view of the stage and the entire ceremony no matter where your family is assigned.
Arrival Times for Graduation: Due to the increased number of attendees and our limited parking spots, the following expectations apply. We have been asked by the town to stagger entrance times to allow for a more orderly entrance and exit.
- All seniors should arrive by 4:55pm. We encourage seniors to be dropped off or to carpool to reduce unnecessary parking and to save their two parking passes for their guests. Seniors should report to the auditorium when they arrive at 4:55pm.
- Families assigned to seating areas #76-103 should arrive between 5:10-5:20 and should make their way down to their assigned area.
- Families assigned to seating areas #51-75 should arrive between 5:20-5:30 and should make their way down to their assigned area.
- Families assigned to seating areas #26-50 should arrive between 5:30-5:40 and should make their way down to their assigned area.
- Families assigned to seating areas #1-25 should arrive between 5:40-5:50 and should make their way down to their assigned area.
