Supporting Early Years Learning with Technology

This hands-on practical session demonstrates a clear and accessible approach for supporting pupils' learning with technology. The emphasisis placed on outcomes in vocabulary, speaking and listening, sequencing and drama. The content and ideas of the session can be used to make an immediate impact in any early years setting.

A small range of iPad apps will be used to share approaches which have been recognised by the National Literacy Trust as outstanding practice in terms of their impact on pupil progress. The activities can be applied to support any topic or subject and are easy for all staff to use effectively in their work with children.

The activities will include: Making digital "talking" books, sequencing and digital storyboarding, making digital games and quizzes and preparing animated role play and drama presentations.

iPads will be provided for use on the day.

In order to carry out the activities with children an iPad will be required.
