Meet Mrs. Cavanna, 5th & 6th Grade Learning Strategist
Top 3 Favorites Parts of Teaching in the OVLC:
Seeing students and staff build communities in their online classrooms
Watching students step up to help one another
Trying out new programs and platforms to keep learning as a teacher
About Mrs. Cavanna’s Teaching Experience:
In Oconomowoc, I've taught, co-taught, and provided specialized instruction in grades 4K-8. I started my time in our district specializing in behavior, but quickly transitioned into working with learners of all needs. I was a founding staff member at Nature Hill, and after teaching there for seven years, I moved over Ixonia Elementary. Prior to Oconomowoc, I taught high school in both Texas and Wisconsin, so I've truly taught kids of all ages. Moving to virtual schooling this year was an adventure that I welcomed as I love trying new things!
A Bit More About Mrs. Cavanna:
My husband Chris and I have two children, Destinee, age 5, and Damarius "Maer,' age 4, a new puppy, and two cats. I love to be outside, especially when the weather warms up, exploring everything our awesome community has to offer with family and friends. I grew up in Oconomowoc, most of my family lives nearby, and I still love it here!
Some of Mrs. Cavanna’s Favorites:
Activity: Swimming with my friends & family
Book: One Child
School Supply: Paper Mate Flair Pens in every color
Anytime Treats: Black coffee & dark chocolate
Local favorites; S&J Cafe, Cornerstone, and The Kiltie
