Distance Learning for All
June 4, 2020
The end of this school year certainly feels different than any other. Students are officially finished with the 2019-20 school year on Monday, June 8. I know all of our staff and students are missing out on the end-of-the-year celebrations and traditions; however, we are celebrating the accomplishments and perseverance from afar. I hope you'll join me in honoring the Class of 2020 tomorrow with our "virtual graduation" ceremony on YouTube.
I know there are a lot of questions about what school may look like when we resume this fall. We are planning for all conceivable scenarios. The Oregon Department of Education is going to provide direction on how schools will reopen. We expect that information next week. Once we learn more about what ODE will require of us, we will send a survey to all families to get feedback on our school reopening options. Please plan to take that survey when it arrives in your email box.
I hope you and your family stay well and stay safe. We look forward to connecting with our students and families this fall.
Thank you,
Trip Goodall

SUMMER LEARNING ACTIVITIES
6-11th Grade Students Keep iPads This Summer
This summer, students in grades 6-11 will be able to access supplemental learning with their district-issued iPads.
Here is what you need to know:
1. We're supporting students use of their take-home iPad for educational purposes throughout the summer.
2. Each senior and student not returning to the Canby School District next school year MUST return their device and its power adapter and sync cable to their school's front office on or before the last day of school this year (June 8th, 2020).
3. If a student/family learns over the summer that they will not return to CSD next school year, they must schedule the drop-off of their device with the District Technology Department via a message left at this phone number - 503-454-6563.
4. Each returning student will be responsible for using their device for the 2020-2021 school year.
5. If a student/family does not make arrangements to return a device over the summer and the student does not enroll in school for the 2020-2021 school year, they will be sent an invoice for the replacement cost of the device.
6. Any device that gets damaged over the summer should be reported to homesupport@canby.k12.or.us or 503-454-6563 to determine how and when the device will be repaired.
7. Students/Families wishing NOT to retain a device over the summer may arrange to drop off their device and its power adapter and sync cable to their current school to be stored over the summer. These devices will be made available to students at the start of the 2020-2021 school year and will be transferred to the correct school, if that student is transferring schools.
8. Students/Families who have questions about iPad use over the summer may email homesupport@canby.k12.or.us or call 503-454-6563 to get their questions answered.
