News from the Nurse:
The Christus Mobile Clinic will be at our Garner campus on Monday, February 10.
They will be offering the required 7th grade booster shots to current 6th grade students.
If you are interested in having your child participate, please contact the Garner Clinic at 210-356-3870.
Kinder Roundup!
Children who are age 5 by September 1, 2020 are eligible to register for Kindergarten.
Children who are age 4 by September 1, 2020 and meet at least one the Texas qualifying criteria for Pre-K may attend our program at Wilshire:
1. The child has a parent that is an active duty member of the armed forces of the U.S., including state military forces, or a reserve component of the armed forces who is ordered to active duty by a proper authority. (DoD ID will determine eligibility.)
2. The child qualifies for Free/Reduced lunch, or receives SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), or Medicaid Free or Medicaid Reduced services. (Income or benefit information will determine eligibility). Free/Reduced Lunch Income Guidelines.
3. Child is unable to speak and comprehend the English Language. (The child will be given a language test to determine eligibility.)
4. Child is or has ever been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) following an adversary hearing. (DFPS documentation will determine eligibility.)
5. Child is homeless. (A parent interview by Family Support Services will determine eligibility.)
6. The child has a parent who was injured, Missing in Action, or killed while serving on active duty of the armed forces of the U.S., including state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces. (Documentation from the DoD/Veterans Affairs will determine eligibility.)
7. The child has a parent eligible for the Star of Texas Award as a peace officer, firefighter, or emergency medical first responder. (Documentation will determine eligibility.)

Go Pink!
On Friday, February 14th, we are going to Go Pink for the cure to honor those who have battled/are battling breast cancer. Students and staff may wear pink along with jeans on this day. Students are encouraged to write a message to someone who has already battled/is currently battling breast cancer.
