Notes from Dr. Irvin
Your WGHS Weekly eNews for November 3
Hello WGHS Families,
This weekend marks another round of Daylight Savings, and November is a busy time at WGHS. We are excited to open our doors on Sunday, November 13 to the WG community at our Community Open House from 1-3 p.m. Our Community Open House features the chance for our community to learn about our outstanding educational programs at WGHS. Visitors will be able to get a glimpse of the WGHS student experience, learn about our innovative program offerings, and even take guided walking tours of the building.
With our rich history, noted alumni, and distinguished scholars and artisans, we have much to be proud of. We're eager to share our mission, curriculum, and culture with the WG community.
Construction Update
Through a generous donation, the Little Theater is undergoing a complete demolition and a new building will be built, which will feature a new multipurpose performance center that will provide new opportunities for students and staff. Administrators and staff members along with a team of design professionals have been providing input during the design phase of the project.
What this means is that demolition of the existing Little Theater will begin next week. We will still have both lanes on Bradford for traffic but parking spots will be unavailable due to the work.
Demolition will last about a month, followed by construction of the new and improved learning and performing space.
Thank you for your patience as we bring this exciting project to our school community!
Regards,
Matt Irvin
