Thank You to Ms. LaShan Mathews Dixon National Ms. Unite
We were so excited to welcome Ms. LaShan Mathews Dixon, National Ms. Unite on March 2, 2017 to celebrate Read Across America. Ms. Dixon was accompanied by Mrs. Jessica Cooper, Community Impact Manager - Education for United Way. These ladies brought greetings on behalf of Rutherford County Books from Birth. Mrs. Graves' Kindergarten Readiness Class enjoyed Ms. Dixon's stories. We were excited that Ms. Dixon took time out of her busy schedule to celebrate reading on such a special day.
Blackman Elementary School Choir attends the Rutherford County Choral Festival
Thank you Mrs. Moore and Ms. Maas for your continued dedication to the Musical Talents of Blackman Elementary School Students.
This year our Choir and Instrument Ensemble had the opportunity to perform in the Annual Rutherford County Choir Festival. The Festival was held at Blackman Middle School under the direction of Suzanne Payne. The 200+ member choir was comprised of students from various schools in Rutherford County. After a day if rehearsing together, the Festival Choir put on a performance that evening for all of their family and friends to enjoy.
Hoops for Heart
We are excited to announce that Blackman Elementary School raised $4,113.00 for the American Heart Association during the Hoops for Heart event. Thanks to each of you for your help to raise money for such a worthy cause. We especially want to thank Mrs. Reed and Mr. McCleary for their hard to work coordinating this event.
Thank You PTO and Community Stakeholders!
Thank you to the PTO, Families, and Stakeholders of Blackman Elementary School for spoiling the faculty and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. We enjoyed all the treats!
Blackman Elementary celebrates the End of TCAP
This year TCAP Testing was a 3 week endeavor beginning with 2 weeks of testing for grades Three through Five and ended with a week of testing for Second Grade. To celebrate all the hard work of the students, PTO sponsored a Spring Fling Carnival. We had bounce houses, laser tag, face painting, games, goldfish, food, and LOTS of auction baskets/items. Thank you to everyone who came and participated. All the students enjoyed the fun and festivities. Thank you to the PTO!
