This month is Dental Health month so we have been learning about taking care of our teeth. The Scholastic News this week showed us how toothpaste is made. Very interesting!
The book fair will be open during the conference hours next week. We will go look at the books that are available on Monday. You can purchase books at conference time.
We have finished chapter 5 in math. This chapter covered many different topics including counting money, adding tens, and practicing the rest of the addition facts.
We read an informational text about the astronauts trip to the moon this week. The students were very interested in this topic. We also practiced reading and writing words with the long o and u vowel sounds. Please continue to listen to your child read the decodable readers that he/she brings home. We still have four of these every week.
We will spend some time checking in on the Olympic activities for the next two weeks. Today we looked at a website that showed us all of the different sports that the athletes compete in during the Winter Olympics. Mr. Robinet's niece is competing in some of the cross country skiing competitions so we will be watching for her when we can.
