We Engage We Educate We Inspire

Hello Stallion Families,

We had a great week last week at the Ranch! As I visit classrooms I'm impressed with how hard our students are working each day. You most certainly can be proud of their effort!

Student Daily Health Assessments

While we know it is another thing to do each morning, please remember to do the daily health assessment with your student(s). Please view the assessment here. It is best to keep them at home if they are showing any symptoms. Students who come to school but then have to be sent home will need to stay home for ten days. Better to be safe and check before they head out the door!

When Adults Come to Campus

A friendly reminder that adults walking onto campus need to wear a face covering. Whether it be in the front for drop off or pick up, or if you come in through the back gate to drop off or pick up your students, you need to wear a mask or face covering. All adults entering the building also most certainly need to do so as well. If you come onto campus without a mask, you will be asked to put one on. Regardless of how anyone feels about the face-covering regulations, they are in place. I need to ask all adults to be good examples for the students and follow these rules while on campus.

If you prefer not to wear face coverings, please drive to campus and use the student drop off/pick up line. Adults in vehicles do not need to wear masks or face coverings.

Should you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact me.

Conferences are Coming Soon!

Our teachers will begin scheduling conferences soon. Each teacher will reach out to you regarding how they will be doing conferences this year. Our ability to use Webex for online conferences provides a new opportunity to help make conferences effective and efficient. We will again schedule conferences using Teachers have been asked to finalize their planning in the next day or two. I will send out a separate newsletter specifically about conferences later this week.

Thursday, November 5th, and Friday, November 6th are half days to allow time for conferences. Students will head home at 11:55 AM on both days.

Help Feed the Staff on Conference Days

The Sonoma Ranch Elementary PTSO has a wonderful tradition of providing meals for staff on conference days. This makes the two very long days of conferences a ton easier for the teachers. Everyone is tremendously grateful to not have to think or worry about lunch or dinner on those days.

If you would be interested in helping our PTSO continue this amazing tradition, it would be greatly appreciated! The link below takes you to a sign up to help. On behalf of all the teachers and staff at the Ranch, I want to thank you for helping out with this each year!

Halloween @ the Ranch

Last week I shared out our plan for Halloween for this year. Unfortunately, we are not able to do our parade or have students change in and out of costumes. So we came up with a plan for the day that still should be tons of fun for our students. Check out Halloween at the Ranch for details!

PTSO Pumpkin Decorating Contest

PTSO is sponsoring a pumpkin decorating contest! Each classroom will get a pumpkin to decorate. On Friday we will display all the pumpkins in the main hallway. Classrooms can take turns checking out the pumpkins and voting for their favorite!

If you'd like to help us out with this activity, please click the link below to donate a pumpkin!

If you'd like to just donate and have PTSO pick up the pumpkin, you can do so thru the SRE PTSO Paypal. The SRE PTSO Paypal account is @SREPTSO

Colin M. Kelly,

Lunch (and breakfast) is Free

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has extended free meals for children 18 years and younger until further notice to help ensure all children have access to nutritious food as the country recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gilbert Public Schools will provide combo meals at no cost to students for breakfast and lunch. A combo meal includes an entree, fruit and/or vegetable and beverage (milk and/or juice).

We certainly encourage our families to take advantage of this opportunity. The menu for October is below.
