Air Florida Flight 90 Crashes

  • January 14, 1982
Air Florida Flight 90 was scheduled to fly from Washington yesterday to Fort Lauderdale with a layover in Tampa but unfortunately never got out Virginia. There was 74 passengers and five crew members on board. Right now only four passangers and one flight attendant has survived. Four motorists from the bridge were killed also. While flying over 14th street bridge the plane crashed onto seven occupied cars and destroyed 97ft of guard rail. Nobody is sure of what exactly happened but they are thinking pilot error. The pilot and crew saw something was wrong while taking off since there was ice still on wings but ignored and carried on. Pilot failed to switch on engines internal ice protection systems, to reverse thrust in snowstorm prior to takeoff and then failed to abort takeoff. Survivors were rescued by surrounding civilians and progressionals. Please pray for those mourning thier loved ones and for the ones fighting to survive right now.
