Free Pre-ACT for ALL 9th Grade Students

USD 231 is offering an opportunity for ALL 9th grade students to take the Pre-ACT, free of charge, on November 7, 2020. This test will be administered following all guidelines for physical distancing, masks, and temperature checks according to the COVID-19 regulations put forth by Johnson County Health and Environment.

PreACT provides you and your child with information that can help you select the right high school courses, think about ways to target areas for improvement, and even begin discussions about college and career. PreACT helps identify:

  • How a student is doing with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in college and beyond

  • Areas where extra help or additional courses are needed

  • Career possibilities that match the student’s interests

Your son or daughter also may choose to have their information shared with colleges and scholarship agencies when they take PreACT, which can help them get discovered for college recruitment and schola

Registration for this event should be completed no later than Thursday, October 22nd at 3:00 p.m.

Prior to the test date, counselors will send an email to those students who have signed up, with the following information:

  • Students will enter the building on the South Side Entrance, near the gym. Signs will be present to indicate which door to enter.

  • Check-in will begin at 7:30; testing will begin promptly at 8:00. Students will not be admitted after 8:00.

  • Materials Needed: students should bring a calculator, their mask, and 2-3 sharpened #2 pencils. Mechanical pencils are not permitted on this test.
