Yearbook Day
Yearbook Day Schedule
- 4th Period - Students will be called to the football field.
- Tech Students will be dropped off by the football field at 2:30 PM.
- Co-Op, Blended Learning and Early Grads can return for yearbook day if they purchased a yearbook. They will report directly to the football field area.
- Only currently enrolled students will be allowed yearbook day.
- If it rains, yearbook signing will take place in the gym.

Callie Giles, Lara Tanner, Michaela Henderson, Sports-med Naeka Patterson were each honored at the Huntsville Hospital Sports Center Athlete of the Year Banquet at the Huntsville Museum of Art. They were honored for their many accomplishments both on and off the court. Callie and Michaela were members our volleyball team and Lara a member our basketball team. Naeka Patterson is the Sports-med at each of the games.

2016 Legends Round Table Event
On Thursday, June 9, 4:00–5:00 PM, Terry Bradshaw will join Mel Blount and John Stallworth on stage at the Westin-Huntsville to discuss their careers, challenges they faced on and off the football field, the importance of education, and preparation for a career and life beyond sports. They might even tell a few football stories! Attendance is free to coaches and athletes from all sports, teachers, mentor, parents, and students who attend with groups! We realize that your school will be on summer break, but we hope you will bring your students to enjoy the event with us! Seating is limited, and tickets per group are limited to twenty-five. Scholarship to MSU
Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity at Mississippi State University is awarding a $1000 scholarship to any deserving man or woman who is planning to enroll at Mississippi State in the Fall. Being a member or becoming a member is not required to be eligible for the scholarship. Please note that a phone interview and/or a face to face interview may be required if you are selected as a finalist. The deadline to apply is July 1st.
Medication
Parents/Guardians, the end of the school year is May 24, 2016. No medication, with the exception of asthma inhalers, Epi-pens and diabetic supplies will be given to students to transport home. Parents/Guardians will need to come to the school to sign out these medications. All medications not retrieved by May 25th will be destroyed in accordance with Alabama School Health Service’s Administrative Medication Policy. Please plan now. Revision to Pre-Approved Absence Policy- Students requesting pre-approved, excused absences will need to turn the form into Mrs. Sharp at least 20 days before the planned absence. Forms can be found on the school website.
Procedure for Riding the Bus with a Friend - Any student who plans to ride home on a bus with a friend or to another address should follow the procedures below. No student will be allowed to ride to a different address without verification of parent/guardian approval by a school official.
1. A parent/guardian note should be turned in before first block to the receptionist desk at the back of the school. The note should contain the address and information for the bus driver and should include the date and a correct phone number for verification purposes.
2. Pick up the verified note from the receptionist during lunch.
3. Give the note to the bus driver when entering the bus at the end of the school day.

First Priority/FCS meets every Tuesday morning at 8:00 in the Black Box Theatre. All students are welcome to attend.

Recycle: Going green at “the Green”. The Hazel Green High School Special Education Department needs your old cell phones and ink cartridges. Items to be recycled can be given to a Special Education teacher or left for collection at the office. Your support of our recycling fundraiser is greatly appreciated.
Reward Cards: Parents/Students/Employees, please remember to use your reward cards when you visit Publix and Hazel Green Pharmacy. Every time you have them swipe your card, HGHS will receive a portion of the sale. If you need a reward card, just stop by the main office to pick one up.

Driver’s permit: Students /Parents, remember to pick up the Student Enrollment Form before you go to get your permit. The driver’s license department will not allow you to take the test unless you have this form and it cannot be faxed after you get there. These forms are good for 10 days only.
Loyalty Reward Tags: (Hazel Green Pharmacy Loyalty Key Tag Program) Parents/Students/Employees, please remember to use your loyalty key tag when you visit Hazel Green Pharmacy. Every time you purchase a Prescription/Gift/OTC have them swipe your tag. HGHS will receive a portion of the sale. If you need a loyalty key tag, just stop by the main office to pick one up.
