Lexington and Concord
The Battle of Lexington and Concord took place April 19, 1775. This day also started the American Revolutionary War. The battle was caused by the taxation the King of Britain was giving to the colonists. The patriots fought against the British soldiers. The colonists were warned about the soldiers by man called the minuteman. The colonists attacked the soldiers by hiding and shooting them without them seeing them. the soldiers were not used to this way of attacking and they retreated quickly.
Battle of Saratoga
The Battle of Saratoga was two battles one in Septermber 19, 1777 and October 7, 1777. Burgoyne attacked both times. On the second battle the Patriots allied with the French. The French helped and made the Patriot army stronger and supplied. Ten days later after October 7, 1777 Burgoyne surrendered. This is a turning point of the American Revolution War.
Battle of Yorktown
The Battle of Yorktown was a battle that occurred at Yorktown Virginia. George Washington with an army of 17,000 French soldiers attacked Cornwallis. In case of him and his army fleeting Washington sent 5,000 troops to block the docks and not allow them to escape. In the end Washington's troops entirely surrounded Cornwallis and his troops. In the result of this Cornwallis surrendered on October 17, 1781. They had a final surrender ceremony and Cornwallis did not attend due to sickness. The ceremony still carried on and peace was made.
