OPEN HOUSE- Next Thursday October 4th at 6pm
Please mark your calendars for this coming Thursday at 6pm- We will have our Fall Open House event here at the school. We realize this is last minute notice but the original date conflicts with Camp Hi-Rock and and a few other events in October or November. The good news is that you don't have to do anything but simply stop by the school for a visit! We hope you can join us?
Come check out your student's work to date, speak with their teacher about how the year is going, sign up for the parent/teacher conference, and spend some time visiting with faculty and friends. We will have some baked treats and drinks for you all to enjoy.
This is a wonderful, casual event meant to bring families together for an evening... no stress!
Come Say Hello at the Guilford Welcome Center
The day is finally here! Please come say hello and support the students and families who will be serving coffee and food at the Guilford Welcome Center on Saturday, September 29th. If you know anyone who commutes for work or passes along the 91 North exit, encourage them to stop by.
Fun Fact: Saturday is the Feast Day of Saint Michael AND National Coffee Day!
With all of this celebrating going on, Saturday should prove to be a wonderful opportunity to raise funds for our school, and bring the students and community closer together.

Important Dates and Reminders
Most importantly, thank you to all the parents who have made a point to stop at the office when volunteering, picking up students early, or just popping by for a visit. We realize it is inconvenient but it is absolutely essential that we know who is in the building and who has left at all times.
The students have been working hard to learn our fire drill and lock-down procedures over the past two weeks.... (they did beautifully by the way!) Having visitors stop at the office is a necessary component of our safety procedures. We ask you to continue to check in with us, and either wear a visitor badge in the building, or sign your students out if you are taking them early. Thank you so much for your understanding.
Monday October 8- Yes we have school
Monday October 15- NO we do not have school. Please make arrangements accordingly.
Catholic Schools Week will be in November this year from 11/4 thru 11/10. Please check the calendar for updates as fun events are announced.

GO SAINTS!!!
Monday, September 24th marked an historical moment for Saint Michael School — not only was it the first time in over 50 years that we have a high school team to represent our school, but it was the first time ever that we had a fully fielded high school soccer team!
It was a sight to behold as our students took to the field, wearing their blue and white uniforms with the Saint Michael’s logo. Though Saint Michael’s lost 4-2, their first game was played against Four Rivers Charter Public School, a long-standing, seasoned team. Having practiced hard all summer long in preparation for the start of the season, the “Saints” coach, Steven Duchaney (also Academic Dean and high school teacher at Saint Michael’s), remarked, “the team played extremely well”.
Both goals were scored by Stephen Borst (Grade 11 - yaaayyy Steven!), but would not have been possible without the passing and ball movement of his offensive team mates: Ella Pierce (Grade 9), Lucy Duchaney (Grade 12), Ezra Christi (Grade 10), Jason Borst (Grade 9), Jack Leggiere (Grade 9) and Thomas Duchaney (Grade 9). Their goalie, Jacob Christi (Grade 12), stopped countless shots by Four Rivers, displaying his defensive skills honed in baseball, as this is his first time playing on a soccer team (amazing Jacob!). His defenders: Matt Jacques (Grade 12), Tara Castricone (Grade 10) and Michael Kelliher (Grade 10) were very instrumental in keeping the ball away from the net.
The team is off to a great start, with seven more games on their calendar this season (a huge “thank you” to our Athletic Director, Karlie Borst!) — this week, our eyes are fixed on Putney School, played at SIT, Brattleboro — then stay tuned for matchups between Greenwood, Compass, and again, Four Rivers, in October — Go Saints!

WAYS YOU CAN HELP
Seeking a volunteer for Friday afternoons in the front office
Is there someone who is willing to be on call to help with future mailings, printing and organizing packets for back pack distribution, along with any last minute details that inevitably pop up on Fridays? Perhaps one hour in the late morning or early afternoon.
Boxtops For Education
Boxtops can be collected in a plastic ziplock-style bag or glued to a collection sheet. We have sent home collection sheets to the younger grades to help get them involved. Please submit your boxtops to the office or in your childs backpack so we can start earning!
**Did you know that a school can earn up to $20,000 in Boxtops annually through their Clip program?! Each Boxtop that you clip and submit is worth 10 cents... Yep! It's that easy!
