Explorations
Jacques explored from 1534-1541. His purpose for the journeys were to discover new lands on the North East coast and to find a northern passage to Asia. He discovered the Northern lands which is currently known as Canada. On his voyages he found things besides Canada, like diamonds and gold. Jacques's route to Canada brought him from France, around the St. Pierre islands and all along the coast of Canada and then back under the St. Pierre islands back home to France. He had three major feats. His objective was to discover certain islands and lands where there might be large amounts of gold and other valuable things, he explored new found land, and he found the Gaspe bay.
