I’m pleased to share dates for upcoming Minnesota Customized Employment (MN-CE) trainings through 2020. The MN-CE training was developed by a team of DEED-VRS & DHS MSOCS practitioners of Customized Employment that utilized the Essential Elements of Customized Employment for Universal Application as its foundation. This is ACRE certified training.

Many of you have indicated an interest in upcoming MN-CE Training cohorts. I am pleased to share with you dates for these cohorts through 2020. The training spans 14 weeks and students will complete a CE-Discovery process with a CE-Job Seeker and start Job Development. We anticipate the cost to attend the training will be 725.00 per person.

2019 Dates:

Cohort 3:
  • July 9th
  • July 30th
  • August 27th
  • Sept 24th
  • October 29th and 30th

Cohort 4:
  • July 16th
  • August 6th
  • September 5th
  • October 1st
  • November 5th and 6th

2020 Dates:

Cohort 5 & 6

CBI 2020!

Hello Teachers and Staff,

It is time to pull together our CBI plans for next year! Follow this link to the CBI Friday Resources Folder and click on the CBI Module Overview 2019-20 to add your module ideas and who you are facilitating with. Once you get you Module down, you can work with your co-facilitator (if you have one) to plan the activities. All weekly plans for Round 1 must be submitted to Colleen by May 31st. Some ideas have been listed already. If you would like to facilitate any of those ideas, type your name next to it. Plan all your rounds through the end of the year if you can!

Add documents to your "My Drive" for easy access!

You can add any documents and folders that have been shared with you to your "My Drive". For example, once you're on the CBI Friday Resources page, click on the "CBI Friday Resources" words near the top of the page and click "Add/Move to My Drive" in the drop down menu. Or click on the "" symbol near the top of the page. Do this for all important documents that are shared with you.

  1. When organizing loose documents, create folders by topic on your main "My Drive" page
  2. Inside the main topic folders, create folders by school year or sub-topics so it is easy to assign places for new documents or locate what you are looking for. Too many loose documents on your main page makes it difficult to find what you need. (think of a file drawer with hanging files as the main topics, and file folders as the sub topics.)
  3. Folders are automatically arranged alphabetically at the top of the list. Loose documents are listed below the folders.
  4. Click on any of the column headers (Name, Owner, Last Modified) to arrange the list differently.

Assign Colors!

Right click on the picture of any folder and change the color so it is easy to see.

Mailing Reminders

When sending U.S. mail to students and families, the envelope should be addressed to a parent or guardian if the student lives in a multi-housing unit.

We get mail returned due to the mail being addressed to the student. It is likely that the student's name is not on the mailbox.

For instance - Mail carrier's don't know who lives in apartment #2. They only know who lives there by who's name is on the mailbox.

Don't let your mail get delayed.

Needs for Changing Rooms

We are in need of plastic bags for all the changing rooms

Also, PLEASE do NOT flush the wipes down the toilet-

the toilets are getting plugged with wipes

Transition Plus needs a Student Newsletter! Staff please send any ideas or suggestions on the content you think would be appropriate to Colleen. Your input is GREATLY appreciated!
